In that timeline, we wound up helping Shar to brainwash Shadowheart as like her prophet her puppet to play like a fiddle. So….. kinda on our head as Karlach really for making her the way she’s acting.

​@@arjusarauis9901I mean not really , if you don't rise shadowheart approval before she confronts the night song she will just kill her unless you pass a 30 charisma skill check . It was her own choice to make . And if your MC is dead she will always kill aylin , even if you get all the nightsong points and have high approval. Regardless of what the ending of the night song quest is , it is always shadowhearts choice , not ours.

To me it makes sense. Shadowheart going there might be considered a betrayal by Shar, and Shar is her first and foremost now. Even if she wants to go, as her Chosen she'd be terrified to oppose Shar. Ascended Astarion isn't tied down by any god in any way, so he does what he feels like. He's probably confident in his power too to go there, and a few years of adventuring for a cure for Karlach is merely a brief time period to him as an immortal - even an investment. (Though I find it hilarious that he looks embarrassed offering it, even looking around first - like 'oh no! Someone will see me being sappy!' :D)

The only way to get that ending I believe is if you face Cazador and don’t long rest get the remaining stone and go right to the brain because he breaks up with Karlach if he can’t turn her because of her blood being too hot and basically calls her defective.

​@@lovelybones8071you can actually reject becoming ascended astorian spawn and he will still be with you romantically, he just says he knows you'll want to become his consort/vampire wife eventually, and he has infinite time for you to come to the "right" decision since he is immortal

For starters I discovered that if you fix Karlach's engine enough to be able to touch her then have Astarion/ vampire player bite her they don't burst into flames. Neither does Astarion the first time he bites her in that scene yet the last bite is what does it? Complete bull all to make Astarion seem horrible after his ascension.

The soul has to be willing for resurrection, and I believe in some scenarios, like if you ask Withers why he didn't bring her back for the epilogue party, he tells you she wouldn't come.

@@williamkingsbury3044 I think if you told karlach "Hey I am gonna kill you, remove the engine, then bring you back to life without it." she would be more than willing. That being said I understnd why they don't just let you use 9th level spells constantly in game. These spells can totally kill all suspense without a good dm that can react to the random ideas of players. But its still funny to think about.

They're all lovely, but ofc in my biased view I like Gale's especially. His desperation in finding the solution to her infernal heart. I think it hits more because realistically out of everyone in the party, he's the most competent jn finding some sort of solution. He's an archmage after all. So knowing the possibility that he may succeed, but if in the end it fails, it hurts more.

Too bad that if you play as Gale as a protagonist, you can not get a happy ending with Karlach, in this broken ending he just goes to the call of Mystra on the script, and Karlach just explodes and he does not react to it, as if nothing ever happened between the two of you. My friend when he played as Gale on release and started an romance with Karlach, he was very angry and sad at the end of the game.🤬😥😖😭

just a thought after i got a bit into the game....not that much left of it i think for my 1st playthrough and after killing several gods"or something" and alot of exremly powerfull beings.. wouldnt it be possible in a strenght vs strength for the gang we played with in this game to actually take avernus with storm and erase all devils from existense??? why the HELLS not!! Mayby a dlc mod in the futur where u go down that road slaying all the evils in HELLS to make baldurs gate safer then ever before for all time remaining

No, there are devils stronger than the elder brain. Rapheal is a small fry in the grand scheme of the hells. And even *if* you got all the way down to the last layer of hell and kill the lord of devils himself, firstly he spawns the most powerful kind of generic devil from his blood and secondly the body in the hells is just an avatar that can reform. No one knows where his real body is, or what his real name even is.
