Adventure Bio: I took the brand new Korean made tenkara rod; DRAGONtails new Kokoro 360. This rod is VERY soft and perfect for kebari and dry flies. I spent some time at a local hot spot and grinded out some brook trout. I hooked into about 40 this day with the best of the catches compiled into this video. This is my first debut and field test of the Kokoro. I boldly claim it may be my favorite tenkara rod near the end. Is it though? I think more time needs to be spent on some handsome 14"+ trout to determine this.

@@skiddyfishing Yup, just the yellow stone and the bear are left. After that I'll be aiming for the Golden trout and the Lahontan in Utah. Then I'll probably do an every species run.

I hear those Goldens are very hard as it’s a small natural population now. I am starting the WNTC myself so I’ll be chasing both of those but in their native states. Good luck on your adventures.

Beautiful stream, beautiful fish. Pretty sure that was still a buck on that tangled brookie. You often catch nicer/larger fish in waaaaay smaller water than I do here - envious!

There is no doubt in my mind that I am spoiled. But I strive to stay humble about it. I spent most of my life, not knowing that these rivers were hop and a skip away from me. Now I am taking it all in! ✊

Cool video! You guys are killing me! Last thing I “need” is another rod! Looks/sounds like a sweet rod that fits what I like. Now maybe you and I have different definitions of what “grinding out some brook trout” means! Since when is “hooking into about 40 fish” a GRIND? 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️🤪 Neil

Lol I’ve been waiting for somebody to make a comment on this. Truthfully this day humbled me. This particular river system I had to drive to four different sections and grind out some miles before I could find a decent density. The first three were pretty spread out and it took me hours to get them. When I finally started consistently hooking them, they were popping off my barbless flies left and right. I made a lot of comments on my camera about it. But then when it came down to editing much that turmoil didn’t make the final cut and most were pretty tiny haha.

If it’s the Japanese word for ‘heart’ - 心 - you put the emphasis on the first syllable. KOkoro. Japanese r sound is almost like a d sound.
