Something that confuses me is that people expect drag queens that don't get along in general to make up and be friends. They're human and not all humans get along, no matter how hard you try

You’re so right, under the padding and wigs we’re still human, vulnerable, prickly and we grew up defending ourselves.
@AndrewMacLaine Жыл бұрын
AND on top of that, it's easy to forget that under the padding they are men with real testosterone running through their veins,🎉 which makes them arguably more prone to aggression, especially when angered. @SusanWillful Жыл бұрын
I think some of it is the age-old appeal of the story line where rivals become friends or set aside their differences to pull together because they are ultimately on the same side of whatever outside issue threatens them all. For how much audiences enjoy the drama and spice of good fighting, that heart warming turn around when they become friends is also wonderful.

Tamisha VS Monet is to this day the most ridiculous and hilarious beef of all Drag Race Queens. All because Bob would always joke that Monet hates someone. Like, Monet would say something like "I don't care much for X's dress" and Bob would be like "wow! Monet shaded her! She wishes X was dead! You all heard it!" and Monet doesn't bother to correct her anymore because it's obvious that Bob is just being stupid. Well, it wasn't so obvious for Tamisha I guess.

Tamisha seems to have been too reactive. So many petty things shouldn’t have been worth her energy. As people get older and wiser, they usually squash drama and nonsense vs engaging. I think RuPaul was being an asshole when it comes to that Aja studio 54 episode. If they were going to edit out the scene with Aja being critical of Warhol, then what's the point of lying about how "inaccurate" and "ignorant"Aja's outfit was? It came out as such a confusing mess from an audience viewpoint when it was obvious Aja succeeded and knew what she was talking about. RuPaul's actions on the episode along with the edit ruined that episode and really made me start to have a bad taste in my mouth for the franchise thing forward. It's why I don't watch that much anymore. Just feels like there was some weird petty ageism too on RuPaul's part imo.

Kimora’s lip sync with Gia Metric was disturbing to watch. I can see how Kimora can be spicy and not everyone’s cup of tea. I can see Adriana and Kimora not vibing, and Adriana making a request. AND, if Adriana was more popular with certain promoters and at certain venues, I can see a 3rd party taking dislike and making it a bigger thing when making booking decisions. Océane was on the same season, also Black, and her personality was very different from Kimora’s. Adriana didn’t seem to have an issue with her. So maybe it really was a personality conflict between Adriana and Kimora that got blown out of hand with the involvement of other people.

Well, it’s not that simple. Adriana did start this, but the whole thing got blown out of hand. Once you tell promoters/producers you don’t like someone, it can trickle down to affecting someone’s career options. Adriana has a right to not like whomever she wants to, but she should take responsibility for how vocalizing this may have impacted Kimora’s bookings. It didn’t help that Kimora reacted with anger, even though she was entitled to feel this, instead of having an honest discussion with Adriana about what really happened.

Or how long you've been in the industry.And you can't expect to get lippy with someone And insult them. and not be retaliated, that's ridiculous. You give respect you get respect.
