My dad is a plumber for 47 years and wetwipes are the worst, and contribute to 80% of blockages, now he works at a Hospital as an onsite trade - where its even worse. What people dlnt understand is even tho the packet says "flushable", they really are not and should never go down the toilet. Even the sewage station people and people who work on the mains have said do not put wipes down, it can block the sewer and the stations cannot handle the wipes. Please put wipes in the rubbish... Good thing is, people are keeping plumbers in the job

I work in sanitation maintenance, wet wipes are by far our biggest preventable issue. "Adam Ruins Everything" did an episode on flushable wipes. Funny and informational for anyone still on the fence about why shouldn't you use them.

Hard to judge without knowing all the facts. Perhaps it was tree roots, easy to clear, and then advise the customer that further action is needed but they refuse to believe it.

Greetings from the US. No hate to general plumbers, but for blocked drains, it's better to call a drain cleaning specialist. We have one gent in our area who I like. I met him via our septic specialist. My family phoned the drain cleaner I recommended, and they liked everything except the cost........ it was fixed efficiently, and hasn't needed a return visit in many years.
