Overall Her Loss is an album I do enjoy. I think Drakes performance is really good on this… experimental flows and cadences and obviously we know how good of a writer he is, I love how toxic he is on this record. 21 I thought was very good as well, and I don’t mind that he didn’t have as much run time as Drake I think what they did with the overall with with the run time is perfect for this album. When it comes to the content I love how toxic it was especially on Drakes part it’s exactly what I wanted from him on this project. I also love how 21 went into some different content matter on 3AM for example. Overall the content matter I enjoyed. When we talk about features I loved the Travis feature I thought it really elevated the song even though I really neither first part as well it brought it to a new level. I also thought the adlibs from the other rappers were cool, it didn’t really elevate the experience for me other than on Major Distribution. Overall the features I thought were smart… but damn I wanted the Cole feature!!! When it comes to production I have mixed feelings on it because I’m some of the songs I felt the mixing was a bit off… at least to my ear. There were some very nice samples on this project which I enjoyed. Also the beat switches I really enjoyed and made the experience very enjoyable. Overall the production was solid but I do have some gripes with a few tracks. Overall this album was enjoyable for me. My favourite songs are Middle of the Ocean, Treacherous Twins, Rich Flex, 3AM on Glenwood.

This the thing, Drake went in a pretty mature bag on Scorpion and allthough I think Scorpion is Drake's best album he'd ever made in his career (based on how he was applying all the skills he learned through the years) it also felt very heavy to listen to. But at the same time Drake carries also a what younger audience so in order for him to please us all, he has to keep making the mature Drake songs and the songs for the bit younger audience. Drake is my favorite hip-hop artist of all time and I've been missing this amount of production from 40 for a very long time. This album is definitely better than CLB and right now I'm thinking I like it more than Honestly, Nevermind too, but it's still Drake's weakest album outside of those 2. Here's my ranking of the songs and my thoughts (updated): 1. Hours In Silence - The section from 4:20 to 6:39 is peak 40 and Drake. The atmospheric production from 40 combined with Drake's reverb-heavy melodic performance, not just in that last section but in the whole song, made this my favorite one by a long shot. This sounds like if TSU (one of my favorite songs from CLB) were on Dark Lane Demo Tapes, which is one of my favorite Drake albums thanks to this same atmospheric style. This song is basically a better TSU. 2. Jumbotron Sh*t Poppin - The first part of this song is decent, but again thanks to 40, the atmospheric section from 1:56 to 2:17 won me over and it was amazing enough to overshadow the rest of the song. The last part of that section, from 2:06 to 2:17, has the same sound as the outro of Headlines from Take Care, which bumps it up even more. 3. Spin Bout U - When Drake's chorus kicks in, the song quality goes up 1,000%. The best way I can think of to describe why I like this song is that it sounds like if IMY2 from CLB were on Scorpion (which is definitely an improvement). Also, shocker, this one was produced by 40 too, which means my top 3 songs are all 40 songs, which makes sense given that 40 is my favorite hip-hop producer of all time and I listen mainly for the overall sound of the music.5. On BS - This track serves as the banger for me. It has all the elements of a trap banger from What A Time To Be Alive (but with 21 Savage instead of Future, which knocks it down a bit). 4. I Guess It's F*ck Me - I really enjoy the Drake verse and atmospheric production in the background. This song was a grower for me. Now I feel like I can really appreciate the classic Drake elements in this song, but I needed time to get used to it. 5. On BS - This track serves as the banger for me. It has all the elements of a trap banger from What A Time To Be Alive (but with 21 Savage instead of Future, which knocks it down a bit). 6. 3AM on Glenwood - I'll be honest; I'm here for Drake and only Drake. I'm not a fan of 21 Savage. But yet again, 40 wins me over with his incredible production. The beat sounds like if Redemption from Views were sped up and turned into a rap beat. Everything about this song is classic Drake except the fact that it's 21 Savage instead of Drake. I would've preferred Drake on this track, but 21 Savage delivered probably my 2nd favorite performance from him ever, and everything else about this song is really great. This placement in the list means 40 songs comprise 4 of my top 6 on the album. 7. Major Distribution - The switch from R&B to trap caught me off guard in a great way, and that second beat is extremely hard, similarly to On BS. 8. Broke Boys - The first part is decent, but the second part makes this track for me. I get Going Bad energy from this one, but I prefer this beat actually. 9. More M's - This is a great one because of its darkness and dirtiness. This is what Knife Talk should've been (it's a million times better). 10. Privileged Rappers - I know I'm a broken record, but the section from 2:27 to 2:40 carried the song. The rest isn't great, but that outro is another gem from 40. 11. P*ssy & Millions - When Travis Scott's section kicks in, that's when this track goes from decent to great. The triumphant energy gives me Stick by Dreamville, 9 5 . s o u t h by J. Cole, and N95 by Kendrick Lamar vibes. My favorite part has to be when Drake's part drops back into the energetic beat at 3:40. 12. Circo Loco - This is where the quality starts to drop for me in this list. As an EDM fan myself, I wish I liked this song more, since it samples Daft Punk's One More Time, but this song is just Drake following the 2022 trend of sampling nostalgic songs, changing their tempos, adding out-of-place trap drums, and rapping quickly but boringly over them (think Jack Harlow - First Class). The section from 3:04 to 3:56 is a slight improvement thanks to 40's signature sound shining through, but it isn't enough to save the song this time. 13. Treacherous Twins - I had high hopes for this one given its incredibly hard-sounding title, but the beat is somewhat underwhelming and Drake's performance isn't enough to save the track. 14. Middle of the Ocean - I have a love-hate relationship with this one because while these types of Drake rapping verses are some of his best, I don't listen to Drake songs for classic-sounding, understated beats like this one. 15. Rich Flex - The first part isn't catchy to me at all (it reminds me of some of the more boring trap songs from 2018), but the second part is even less enjoyable for me with its hard but repetitive piano beat and somewhat underwhelming rapping performance. 16. BackOutsideBoyz - This really isn't my type of song. It's like Betrayal by Trippie Redd but significantly worse (I actually liked Betrayal). I'm not mad at Drake throwing in one of these types of songs for the younger fans though.

This was the most solid album I have listened to in a while!!! I love how the forts track was kinda a blueprint of how other songs were gonna go with beat switching and Melodies. All the way through it was great and drake ends it with his special closing to albums with “I guess it’s fuck me” If I say it’s two skips for me even those aren’t bad just not as liked as others. So I’d give it a 8/10. It grows on me more I listen tho.

I didn't like it that much on the first listen, but it grew on me when I re-listened. Still don't know if I can call it Drake's best since IYRTITL yet. More Life and DLDT are better.

in my oipn is very collab song they did before better han nearly every song on this album, this shows that they didn't showed their full potential, plus it's more like a full drake album with a few 21 features, 5/10 for me

Love the content and really enjoyed the reaction on Patreon but I’ve a question, I don’t really understand how sometimes you guys have nothing bad to say about a certain category I.e Features , but still put it under great? . Wouldn’t it go under perfect or amazing as there was no negative criticism for it? Just curious . Keep up the good work

I wish Cole was a feature that’s why that category not amazing plus 21 had less than drake by a lot
