Hmm, I like this twist on the origin since it puts LP and DW on a more even footing and justifies why Drake is a bumbling hero--he doesn't have the experience in fighting crime.

Personally I hate when they play up Darkwing being stupid, what I love about Darkwing is the 'you get back up' part, with a side of silliness, but it's so easy to go too far. When they did JUST DW episodes it was fine, but when they did the mega-crossovers they went a hair too far for me. The Moon Invasion springs to mind.
