"Coming over from Africa" like this man never left the continent of Africa. Burna Boy literally grew up between continents. He's f*cking international. People outside the U.S. have a global mindset, appetite, and appreciation, so it makes sense that Canadians were listening to Burna Boy in 2016.
@flapjackssyrup3905 Жыл бұрын
It’s kind of easier for people overseas to travel and be more in tune with other countries. It costs too much to travel from the U.S. over to Africa and Europe and come back. Overseas it’s just a car ride to get from one country to the next. Plus, their languages are so intertwined with each other vs Americans just have American English and Mexican/Puerto Rican/Dominican Spanish.

That includes music, the awards, TV shows, movies, slang, fashion and so much more so give Americans a break. I think its great that we all are connecting with one another. You would have to be from the US to understand. They really are trying to understand. Culture has always been define by the United States of America. For centuries the world has always paid attention to Negro Americans. Their struggle, their fashion, swagg, music, slang in the way they talk, and the movie industry. Unfortunately, the US have lied through the media over the years. They have always showed us heart breaking pictures of African children suffering from hunger with flies in their mouth. Thank God for the internet because we have been allowed to connect with the motherland.

The US just recently, not that long ago learned of this new Genre called Afro Beats. I am here for it. However, what's really sad is that I have noticed in the comments a lot of shade being thrown at Americans for no reason at all. It's as if we are damned and criticized if we do support Africa or if we do not support Africa. It's a darn shame Smh. I think it's awesome that 2 famous artists were inspired by African music. For years Africa and the rest of the world has always been inspired by American musi, particularly Negro Americans music. Not to mention our style, our swag, our slang and our whole culture and so many other things that the world has been influenced by. It was nice of the 2 famous artists to pay tribute to Africa in their sound. I don't know what songs you are speaking of but it's nice to hear this. I have been reading a lot of the comments. Africa is always attacking the US about some of the little smallest things, rather than just appreciating the love and support that yall are getting. This is confirmation that the world has always hated on the United States of America for no reason at all. I never understood it. I was truly praying that this music would bring Negro Americans, Africans whether Nigerians or not, together in unity. Seriously, you cross over into the mainstream and now yall want to lose your darn minds. Lol 🤣😂Stay humble because as quiet as it is, there are a lot of Afro beats soungs that sounds just like R&B which happens to be a Negro American Genre. We have not once thrown shade at Africa for it so chill out Playa. On the real. In fact, it's why some of us love many of the Afro Beat songs and why it's played on the radio stations in the US. We can relate to it because we hear our genres in many of the songs. We love how Africa has added their own sound to it with the African beat. You don't hear Americans complaining and throwing shade. We have never been like that. I would like to know why is Africa trying to start smoke with the west? Trust me it's not a good look. It makes you look like haters especially when we have not disrespected you all but only have supported you. humility is a beautiful thing. Much Love from Oakland California "The Town" 🇺🇸❤🤜🏾💥🤛🏾
