People are missing some aspects about this when they add more features to gameplay down the line. The fuel is supposed to be more so im sure the dev alredy noticed and will update the volume. There is an actual locker by the bathroom. There is a food unit and when in game you will be able to get food from it. This is for long travel not a drop ship with vehicles ready to fight.. for the 50 credit for a started ship it is one of the more versatile of the 3. And if you really want a vehicle get a bigger one or wait till the motorcycles are released im sure it will fit in this nicely.

You may be missing one of the reasons they made this vehicle. Notice a theme with this year? Nearly all small ships and ground vehicles, with most of them having variants. Small vehicles require less time to create and generate revenue. Variants require even less work to make and sells as a completely different vehicle. CIG loves variants. They can rebrand a vehicle they've already made, slightly alter it and make more money. The "RV" aspect of it is simply marketing.

They didn’t even made it the same price as the scout instead of the $10 more everybody expected. I agree they like variants cuz they are easier than brand new, but we all love having ships tailored more to what we want

You may have gone too quick with the lights. The flood lights on the rambler take about 3 times as long to power up as it's head lights. I think you only had the headlights running, which is why the results matched the other cutter.

You don't even need the tractor beam. Closing the ramp will just push the Mule in.

There is storage on the rambler, there's a big locker between the shower door and the dining table

I used a base cutter as my daily driver, so I upgraded to the Rambler, as I didn't need extra cargo space. The lights are a little disappointing; I was expecting it to light up like the lights on my 4x4.

think the best variant so far is the scout, mostly because it has long term value as a budget terrapin (and I mean a very budget terrapin considering one is a 220 dollar ship that should have been 150-170 dollars like the other ships that are sort of niche specialized vessels). Base cutter makes a great burrito delivery truck though.

The way you do it solo with the Mule in the Rambler is going head and close the back door in the cockpit...when you park in a station u take the Mule out and park it back in back first. Then get out and close the door go up n store the ship.

Interested to know what exploration gameplay will look like and they didnt really mention the exploration style features this gets over the other ones other than big fuel tanks and a food dispenser. Does it have better scanning than stock etc?

It is known that when the Cutter first came out they made a mistake on the QT store. It should be 600 and not 6,000. Someday that number will be corrected.

This ship would have been a SWEET deal.....Had all 3 variants been squished down into one. As it stands, it simply doesn't hold enough ability to be a "variant" IMHO. It's not so unique like the Cutless series, Freelancer series, Connie, Spirt, or the Zeus series... That said, I got the Rambler. I do love the design but I feel they stretched this build out unnecessarily.

I dislike the rambler for the opposite reason that I like the Scout. With the scout, I see that its dedicated scanning function and its elongated cargo bay that can fit a variety of ground vehicles, as well as the cutter's larger than average fuel capacity and acceptable living amenities, allow it to fill a niche as an extremely useful and affordable ship for future exploration gameplay. The rambler on the other hand, sacrifices any niche gameplay it could have for slightly nicer living amenities (by drake standards) and a bit of extra fuel. So... why? Why is this worth it for the player, what niche does it fill? Sacrificing the og cutter's already lackluster cargo for lackluster nicer amenities? That's... pretty underwhelming. Now there were a few interesting ways they could've gone with the Rambler, with a bit of creativity. A small smuggling vehicle, or maybe an emergency medical vehicle. A large amount of the community seemed to want those things. But I squint my eyes at this thing and the best I can see in it is an LTI token. Seems a shame.

The Cutter Scout has 99 shots with the default weapons too. I changed mine to fixed size two NDB-28 and it has 69 shots.

You'd think the "exploration" version would be the Rambler and Scout mashed into one ship. Since exploration ships need more fuel and a better scanner. Seems weird to separate the two.

I love the base cutter. This one did the exact opposite of what I wanted. I want the base unit with a slightly wider cargo area to accommodate the STV better. The hab functions are fine as is. And they could probably squeeze them together a bit to make up some room in the cargo. You are only gaining an extra tank, suit locker, extra gun rack, and some seats that don't matter. There is a great storage locker in the base that you can keep food and gear in. This is cute, but does nothing really to benefit the cutter. You could just as easily put the tank on the base. As far as variants go, this is crap.

Everythibg you said makes it the better version lol. This one also has a storage locker its next to the bathroom. He just didnt see it. You named 4 extra things this has over the other variants and also it has actual food dispenser from what they said so when that type of extra gets added with will be usable to dispense food. The storage tank for fuel will be added im sure the dev have already noticed its missing, and yes I do like the extra seat because my wife does not like sitting on the bed while we are flying. This is why I like watching multiple review videos because someone always misses something.

it's not crap, it's just not objectively better than any of the other variants. It's just a matter of preference. For someone who doesn't haul and has no intention of hauling cargo or other vehicles, and appreciates having more 'livable' interior, the rambler might be a better fit. Also; maybe when the gameplay associated with exploration comes in, the relative value of the ship will change. So it's just not fair to write it off as completely shit. This isn't even an unheard of design choice for CIG's ships. The mustang beta exists, and is in a similar position. It takes a already small ship and cuts its cargo capacity for internal space, with an emphasis on 'exploration' (whatever that may be in the future). Maybe it's useless for how you personally play the game, but thats not going to be true universally or for everyone else.

My opinions on the ship: 1- SCM speed should be better, youd think with the different thrusters this ship could be faster. 2- Put the storage locker above the bed, and remove the unneeded extra weapon locker, move the bathroom up and you could have extra cargo bay room. 3- A sliding fridge door for the kitchenette

I think i will upgrade to a rambler. With all the latest living compartment stuff onboard and me not having the slightest idea how the survival stuff will turn out, that might get her to be chosen to check out Pyro over my Mustang Beta and Avenger, even with the reduced cargo bay. But i do have a base Cutter and 5 dollars store credit sitting idly in my account. I wouldnt buy any Cutter for the full real money price again

Isn’t the scout a better explorer? Yes - the rambler has more fuel but the scout has the much better sensors.
