I was first introduced to them at the first shop I worked at. 2 of the OG barbers used them and I was blown away. That was in 2015 to this day they are my secret weapons. I use the wahl seniors with the fade blade to blend from closed to open after setting my guide line with the clipper open.Then the background with the metal 2 or a wahl 2 then fade down with the phat blade. then clipper over comb to the long hair. I love that I can hear the crunch. I even clipper over comb sometimes with the phat blade closed and it almost chips away at spots I see and I can hear it chop so that’s nice. I love it. It was nice to watch this I just got my phat blade last week and have been working on the fade up fade down technique. I’m swapping my master blade to my seniors too once I get my bracket but until then I am cleaning up the fade with the oA blade, #1 blade, .5 guard and seniors no guard to get the line blurred

I stay low but I open them up all the way and close as needed. You just start from the bottom and move up to where you’re hitting what you need without creating new lines

I notice the phat master blade is shaped oddly do you have to lean the machine forward when you are fading or do you use the beveled edge?

Yeah so the front flat tip of the blade is where I lay it flat against the head. Definitely a different angle.
