It's kind of a relief to hear Drake say early in the interview that some nights they struggle to come up with something. There's frustration, pointless nights ETC. As a producer and a writer I get a lot of those nights and they can be extremely disheartening and frustrating. It's kind of relieving to know that people such as Drake & 40 go through the same thing.

People hate Drake but around the time of 2014-2016, Drake was working harder than everybody else to solidify his spot as the top artist in the game. If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, What a Time to Be Alive and Views back to back to back in a year is out of this world and each are arguably classic projects. He’s earned it.

Especially 2015, I don't think i've seen an artist hit on so many dubs than he did in one year, reading this, headlining Coachella, meek beef, deal with Apple and ovo sound radio, WATTBA, and then ending it with arguably his biggest hit ever with hotline bling.

sorry to burst your bubble but a little bit of influence in music doesnt mean that Jamaica influences culture or the world lol If anything we are more influenced by Eastern cultures.... Go to any American or Canadian city and on every street you will see people eating Chinese or Korean food, doing yoga which is Indian and maybe talking about Karma or Feng shui I know black people like to think they different things to feel better about themselves (like ancient egyptians were black lol) but please dont embarrass yourself it is kinda sad lol

Comin back to this, views is a classic now, and everyone hated because it was just that big. The listen is so seamless and beautiful, there are no skips on this album which is incredibly hard for a 20 track album. Let’s give him and 40 their flowers for bringing this huge shift in the culture

Yeezus his bars mostly but also his horrible dancehall music and the R&B songs aren't memorable like on take care and NWTS except Hotline Bling and the beats aren't has good as his last albums. His worst album to date no debate.
@davidsavage519
@davidsavage519 8 жыл бұрын
BLVCK LORD Yeah some of his bars are pretty cringey but it was well done overall. I like how he combined RnB and hip hop like most can't. Especially on Redemption. It's a nice listen. Calms me and puts me in a nice mood. I saw a tweet that said the album is not for the club but for the ride home at 3am. I like the somber tone.

That's how you can tell apart long time fans from recent fans. Everyone i know who fucked with drake since 09 were all in agreement that we wanted him to sing a little bit more. IYRRITL and WATTBA were good but it didn't feel like the Drake I've known. I'm glad he went back to that soft half rap half singing shit. He' at his best when it comes to songs about relationships

Yes sir, I've been searching for this comment. Been listening to Drake since Room For Improvement.. Then went on to Comeback Season and then so forth.. It was all him singing and telling stories about life. Being himself and not trying to be somebody else. I don't know what people were expecting from Views, perhaps hard club, booty shaking music? Nah. That type of music dies quickly. If I'm anything, I'm a day one Drake fan and I take pride in that.. Views was everything any REAL fan would've wanted from him and would never talk down on any of it. Sincerely fan since 2006.

this should be posted as a review... since he came out with those 09 r&b records I've been a fan more of his singing than rapping because that feels more relatable, that feels closer to the real drake than anything and that's what made me a fan. I haven't heard the album but if it's anything like trust issues, fall for your type, what if I kissed you and I get lonely too... then this album will be fire

That's not the the problem is what you don't understand. It's not good because the music isn't good. It has nothing to do with singing. Take Care is considered to be his best album and he sings for most of it. So you're argument is false. People don't like the album because the music just isn't good. NWTS is my favorite album of his and that's old drake. No one is mad that he is singing, I'm mad that the melodies he is singing don't fit the song or aren't good

How's that shit weird? You want the nigga to be all hype while he's just casually talking in a casual interview? Pull up a Cole or Kendrick interview, they're calm and chill af compared to some of their tracks they're hype on. The nigga is an artist so if he's feelin like he's the shit he's gon rap, if he's feelin some type of way then he's gon sing. Someone can't feel or act the same all the time so his music won't either.

Nah I feel like every album receives this similar response. With Drake this time around people were expecting bangers, but he gave that that retro Drake that a lot of people didn't really like much. They wanted him to spit heat, not sing on most of the tracks. I think it's an ok album, but nothing new, just Drake being Drake. Playing it safe and moving the chips right.

+DubKicker Drake is more well-spoken then Logic. An example of this could be the interview of his race with the breakfast club in which he lets Charlemagne get to him.

You know what? I don't care if he writes his own music/lyrics or not !!! Drake is unique either way. He is professional. He is intelligent. As a human being, he seems to be so down to earth, and like an all around great guy . Drake is the type of person I would introduce to my parents, without having doubts about them Liking him . That's the vibe I get anyway. Haha

i got hyped up when he got real about this being his time. people can say what they want but Drake has been consistent for years. new artists have popped up and fade out but he is still in the top.
