Wayne arguably had the highest peak in rap history
@ayo_terrion
@ayo_terrion 2 жыл бұрын
He literally had a cult following. Maybe Pacs death is the only thing comparable but he even split time with BIG at that point

Let's not pretend 50 Cent didn't have the entire planet wrapped around his finger pre-Wayne... In fact, if it wasn't for 50's mixtapes... Wayne would've never dropped so many mixtapes which built his buzz to Mega Stardom.
@Yhtbh
@Yhtbh 2 жыл бұрын
well drake literally had a higher peak but yh i guess. 2018 for drake was the biggest individual year for an artist since michael jackson in 1983. drake had 4 number 1's, 13 top 10's, 8.5 billion streams on spotify alone that year, best selling album, best selling song etc etc. insane year
@ayo_terrion
@ayo_terrion 2 жыл бұрын
@@Yhtbh lol lived thru both peaks and it’s not even close my guy. Lil Wayne height could never be shown thru metrics unless you use illegal downloads. He had a “cult” following, I repeat “CULT” following. Nicki and Drake some of the top selling artist of all time BECAUSE of the cosign of young money. That’s power. If drake is Jesus then lil Wayne’s is god and drake would say it to.
@Yhtbh
@Yhtbh 2 жыл бұрын
@@ayo_terrion i get what your saying bro and drake would say it too. but on paper drake had a bigger and more dominant year/era. also outside of music, he became the executive producers of HBO's euphoria & Netflix's top boy. his tour in 2018 became the highest grossing hip hop tour of all time and grossed $102 Million etc. Drake was the biggest rapper while dominating pop artists, wayne was the biggest rapper while beyonce, rihanna, chris brown etc all had a bigger year then him. Call it recency bias but no other artist had a bigger overall year then drake 2018 in the 21st century.
