This is definitely a Drake track. And I think it was leaked on purpose. My reason for that is the “DJ WhooKid” reference on one of the versions. It’s literally a nod to that nostalgia of getting a leaked/bootleg version of an early 2000s record & personally, I think he’s a genius for that. It puts him in a safe space sort of because if people don’t like the record, he can say it wasn’t supposed to come out but if people rock with it, he gets even more firepower. Despite his status, he knows that word of mouth will always be the best promotion.

Peace Mark, great breakdowns! I thought of two things to share. The first was when Beans dissed Jay he did end up using the Nas line from Ether about being better than Jay. The other was the Thanos comparison for Drake. Without bashing Drake in any way, I think the better comparison would be Loki from the first avengers movie (the shape shifting being comparable to different styles he incorporates into his music) I think there are other comparisons to make but it could be an overall interesting topic for hip-hop and marvel comparisons. He mentioned SZA, Trav, & 21 because they all have 70/30 label contract deals. Savage also own all of his Masters. The angle is how can K Dot be the Big 3 if his label contract is 50/50 implying he’s not a Top dawg fr. If this is true it’s definitely a strong angle to dive into for round 2.
