Yes!! ^ please review the Drake for Bari, I am looking to get a better Bari mouthpiece. I currently use a Eugene Rousseau JDX-6 but ehhh Ive used it for a long time and it's nothing too special.

The N.Y. Jazz is a great all around post bop and R&B mouthpiece . I play an 8 and have sold a few in Hawaii here. As. drake Dealer I have many models in stock and they are all made beautifully I play a .120 contemporary II on bari as well for all styles of music. Great Mouthpieces. Aaron is a player.

Hi, do you still live in Hawaii and deal in these mouthpieces? I am a Hawaii resident and would really like to try some of these out. They sound fantastic.

Hi zangsax, I will be over on Maui today for a gig. Any chance I could swing by your shop and try the Drake tenor pieces? Sorry for the short notice, just hoping you’re available sometime today. Mahalo!

Sorry Larry, teaching until 2 and from 3 on I am on a sound check/run thru and gig. Where is your gig? I’m in Kihei if I can figure out a way. My gig is at a little theater in Kihei as well in case I get a “dinner break”

I've got a son of slant 7m, for me it's a pretty thick and dark sound that can still project really well but I mainly use it for recording

Great video. Not enough comparisons available for Drake mouthpieces so this is a very helpful comparison. How does the studio model compare with these, assuming you stock it?

I have the reso chamber drake. I think it’s just got that classic jazz sound. But I must say the altissimo a doesn’t slot easy for me. I’ve fought it constantly for nearly a year now. Any other mouthpiece I try and altissimo a pops out no issues! The drake really needs to be made in hard rubber too. I can’t stand the plastic it reminds me of middle school band. Maybe I’ll get the retro revival reso as it’s actually hard rubber. I’ve spoken with Aaron too about my difficulties in the altissimo register on his mouthpieces and still haven’t had any luck. Seems like a custom mouthpiece maker should be able to make one that works. So much for paying high custom prices if the piece is essentially worse than my stock Meyer in altissimo.

Drake makes a very fine premium mpc product line and Jim always sounds pleasant on any of the mouthpieces he reviews. .. Early on in 88 Bergonzi and Liebman were "instrumental" in designing our metal mpc line . One of my ole teachers Joe Allard said "Sound is Everything" you can find out more on the Sugal site.

Jim --- sound great as usual! Can I ask which Bergonzi mpc you were playing? He's got 3 or 4 styles on the Drake site. Best Regards Doug

I have a Drake Pete Christlieb with his favorite .120 opening. It's amazing. I also have a non-vintage Berg Larsen metal of the kind he played previously. This Drake for me is a world better but Pete's Berg Larsen that he used to use is vintage and probably has been worked on by Berg Larsen himself back in the day.
