This is the worse move I've seen from drake's side since this battle started...this makes him look incredibly weak, unintelligent and even softer because instead of taking an L he chooses to have people incite and threaten violence (and yes drake is behind this imo) This puts drake in a horrible position as he lives in the US part of the time and needs to go to LA again at some point...even if Kendrick himself ignores this that doesn't mean others will and this genius said he would do homework on everybody in the NLU video...extremely AWFUL move...Akademiks stays inside but I guarantee people know where he lives...all of this because a 🥷🏼 lost a battle with zero street beef behind it and now they want to take it there...terrible decision

What I find funny is the fact that Kendrick has more ''real'' street people who really support him. Snoop Dogg once said that Kendrick might not be a gangbanger but he has real street dudes who will do almost anything to protect him. Vice even made a documentary in Compton with Kendrick and you can see that his entourage is not to be messed with. On top of that people seem to forget who top dawg is, and how much Kendrick's own family members like his uncles are tied to Crips and bloods. Not to mention how many civilians in LA got his back and how much people over there really love him because he has never tried to be something he's not.. He's probably one of the only rappers with actual mob ties who doesn't glamorize or brag about it. The only thing Drake has more than Kendrick is streams, sales, ego, scooby doo and hello Kitty pajamas. And women bras.

I have seen rap beef that was great on wax and never became violent.(LL vs Moe Dee) and remember being in college when 2Pac and biggie were going at it. I remember being concerned when some of TI rap battles were potentially going to turn violent. I have felt like hip-hop is the one genre that both fathers and sons can love with equal passion. But we need to keep this off the streets and just on records. The challenge with all of this is, I have to examine my own hypocrisy regarding fueling this energy because I still to this day love the bridge is over. Hip hop has been about lyrical jousting since the beginning. Let’s just keep it on the records. By the way, I appreciate that you can speak as passionately about hip-hop as you do about comics because I too am comic book nerd. I am ready for season two of X-Men 97.

I dm’ed the Toronto Police Department about it and the Royal Canadian mounted police. I let both organizations know that I believe elements of TPD are compromised (bc I believe that shooting at Drake‘s house was staged and they have Hells Angels on their payroll).

Real respect for your stance, message and teachings from the sad past in the 90s retaliations. I sincerely hope all this BS doesn't end up in a tragic way and everyone involved could hopefully get sober-minded and think of the consequences of their actions beforehand. Again thank you for your platform Mark and your responsible attitude. Big Blessings to you sir!

There is not a question if this is SERIOUS, YES this is serious. There is a lot of young unhinged males who have nothing to loose. Drake is making a serious mistake if he think this make him look tough. Kendrick Lamar is loved by the culture , that is global. If something happens to Kendrick there will be issues, this is no joke.

The problem is what you said in the second half. When you say something reckless, you never know who's listening and who might take it wrong. Even if he was just trying to front, if he's friends with someone stupid who decides to act, or if someone associated with Kendrick or Metro says they they're tired of it, he was the one who started this.

I really admire your admiration for hip hop and your respect for the game. We need more people like you in the hip hop community. Bloodhound Lil Jeff, Lil Scoom89 & Ybcdul all died in June, July & August of this year after rapping about killing people and smoking dead ops in they songs. This violence within hip hop is definitely getting outta hand. Gotta start condemning this shit.

I love this conversation and I got love for you for speaking on it and holding us all accountable. No lie it was two moments in the battle when I thought to myself oh shit this can really go left. First it was Drake using Tupac’s voice (in all transparency I was in Compton when it dropped and the tension was measurable). That was a great idea but should have never been released if you love the culture. Then when Kendrick dropped Meet The Grahams I felt instantly that someone could get hurt. Drake got what he asked for, take the L and move on. Keep up the great work brotha 🫡🏁

Most people who’ve witnessed or participated in real violence understand the weight it carries. Maybe there’s something I don’t know but, as far as I can tell, Ak doesn’t get that. Him screeching about being the “single greatest journalist” all but cemented that in my mind. Dude puts himself above Sway, ish is blasphemy. Even silly battles like Em/D-12 vs ICP spilled out into the streets, and Tech raps about there being “fatalities on both sides” on the Strangulation tape. And that happened before the age of social media. The difference between a rapper & a journalist is we all expect the journalist to be responsible & honest. Edit: I appreciate the good work you do Rob. Keep it up.

Rob thanks for going into detail for fans and young kids who idolize these rappers. At the end of day it’s just music and it shouldn’t be pushed to the next level. These rappers are grown men and making millions this is minor stuff. That’s why I think j cole played it best to not get involved it’s just business and being grown at the end of it.
