P. S. It's probably safe to assume everyone who found this video is also aware of the Prologues. Seeing the translated lyrics again, in motion, makes me realize how the sheer existential anguish here connects to Four's actions in her Prologue. She's keenly aware she lives on borrowed time (even if she has no idea how bad it is for Intoners), and like One, she's desperate to leave behind a legacy. Yet, she can only do so through carrying out One's commands, being too humble/sensible/passive to interfere with her wiser sister's designs, and instead throws herself into carrying them out with utmost energy, denying her own "fleeting" wishes in service of something longer-lasting. From there, it's only a step to wanting to make sure every job she does is truly well-done and won't arise difficulties down the line, perhaps once she's gone. Hence, the massacre of the pirates, for what other way is there to ensure they won't cause problems for the descendants of her people? (Technically, they could have surrendered, and since they never did, her attack technically met the Geneva Convention up until the attack on the mothership, if not even then, but that's another story. ) I doubt I'm the first one who thought of this, but who knows? I certainly wonder what you think?

@@azurebookllet9216 I think each of the sisters are twisted in their own way. But also have tragedy in their own way. Four is after Zero my favorite. And I love how these games get a little more attention due to Nier [ReIN]Carnation. The violence however against those ships, Four did enjoy them. I felt bad for her, so I tried to help her a little in my fic. Because the sisters got more help during their revolution, the girls matured a little (which, btw, I think it makes Zero's journey all the more tragic, and really highlights how nihilistic and cynical she really is). This inspired One to be a better sister during their ruling days. She set up Four and Three to work together more, hoping they could make each other feel less lonely and be less prejudiced (which wasn't as bad as you think, because Four was actually thankful for Three saving her life, on purpose, during a battle in the flashbacks), so even though she did not like handling the magical creatures by association (Three tries to be more pro-active ruling in this timeline in spite of her dolls still being a priority, since she wants non-human creatures to be more accepted and spred through out Midgard), Four's willing to endure it. Honoring your debts and all. Especially because she has some plans to expand her Land's population and make it more accessible, so wether she likes it or not, she knows she needs help. But don't get too excited. This relationship is the calm before the storm.

A predator, just like 5. But unlike Five, she takes no pleasure in the victim. It's the act itself that she enjoys. The two of them are the most nihilistic of the Sisters, which is why they lost completely their human selves. Their songs reflect that loss perfectly.

I mean all the sisters have something that causes them to lose themselves, aside from the obvious reason of the flower. Two loved too strongly and couldn't see the red flags around Cent which he made clear to her Three is a raging sadistic sociopath; if anything she's the most nihilistic as she is devoid of any human connection. Literally sees humans EVEN civilians as "dolls", 4 may be bad but she isn't attacking innocent villagers and turning them into monsters while laughing at their cries bad Four is pretty seeks attention and approval in a very certain manner, leading to low-self esteem issues and egocentrism. Five is a down right hedonist, the only reason she even survived is hinted in ending E (extra side story book) was because there was more in the world that she wanted One is too Prideful, willing to let the world burn provided that she was morally right over Zero. She doesn't say that explicitly but she's purposefully negligent of her sister's activities

But I think she knew to a point what her true role was and was trying to prepare people to survive it, in her own twisted way. 5 and 4, unlike their three older sisters, didn't even have a clue about their power's true nature, so they ended up allowing it to consume them in full. You could argue that 2 did the same, but I think in Branches B and C she actually adopted a vision similar to 0 regarding the Intoners, only more chaotic and destructive.

@Jabami Lain I don't know what about 3 would let anyone think she was trying to save anyone. She admitted during the coliseum thar she just does it for fun and giggles. I mean, her whole shtick was thar humans were too fragile and she enjoyed blood sprays. Literally threatened people for the reaction. I think there are hints to kindness such as in her novella where apparently she refuses to operate on a soldier with a mental deficiency to turn him into a soldier...until she does it anyway, she just didn't have the right monster. The girl threw a fit because one was trying to stop her from experimenting on people and in branch C and E tried to kill ONE because she wouldn't let her kill people and make dolls. I don't care how bad the others are, only 3 has gone so far to attempt on One's life on more than one occasion. 4. Didn't have a clue that's for sure or at least showed no hints. I FAIRNESS to 4, she was technically the most responsible. None of her soldiers were infected with her song unlike in every other land. 5. I don't think 5 would care even if she knew. She seems pretty one track minded. The only moral compassion for 5 is to not hurt non combatant woman and children. 5 is more-so the onr trying to prepare a way for people to survive in her own twisted way. 5 admurs she wants a world of pleasure for everyone (she just wants to be on top....literally and figuratively) unfortunately she often causes dismay rather than pleasure for many people...especially Dito. Yeah 2 just lacked willpower which kinda sucked because we never see 2 in full conscious go all out. She's the only Intoner to require considerable effort aside from One to beat. You could argue that 2 would obviously rag doll 3 but the only reason she beat One is because One didn't want to kill Two and held back or she was too poisoned.

@@zanemiracle6121 it's implied every Sister, especially 4, struggled to keep themselves from being completely taken over by their Flowery sides. I think 3's Flower side was the one that enjoyed to watch the suffering and found the experiments to be mere torture methods. 3's human side however (that probably had Peter Pan syndrome, ADHD or Autism/Asperger given how enthusiastic and thorough she was about her hobbby, yet also childish, immature and fond of the idea of having Octa as her father figure, not to mention getting easily bored outside of interests she found estimulating), was simply curious and academic, and sought to see humanity rise beyond their current average point in order to survive. In order to balance both personas, 3's brain twisted her innocent side by amplifying her worst, probably in the belief that this would allow to satisfy the Flower while also buying her the time she needed to complete her research. We can not forget her comment about birds in the beginning of the game, of how one must be free both physically and psychologically in order to earn a place in the world. For me that's a clear indication she knew of her true purpose as the Flower's holder, but unlike 4, her fight was less notiçable, as her attempt at finding balance made it seem like she has already lost the battle.

@Jabami Lain Actuall6 even in utahime 5 mama, 3 enjoyed the idea of playing with dead soldier dolls, the obsession just grew from there. Each sister was influenced by sing sure, but 3 was always going to go down the bizarre path. Typically subjugation by song is signified by changes in voice, tone, etc. However, in 3's orolouge, the freaking PROLOUGE that takes place before the intoners versus zero, she was already engaging in human experiments and none of the intoners were under heavy sing influence then, 3 is just that unhinged. 3 is literally just a sociopath. She has little regard for human life, prefers not to interact much, keeps to herself, etc. Idk what Peter pan syndrome has to do with anything, unless you think torture is an adult theme in a world that a Shaxxor (some kid?) Was the lord of the forest m before he got off'd. I mean that just sounds like OCD, that's like calling every enthusiastic gamer an autist. What is even with this apologetic behavior for 3??? There is no statement or thing that alludes to tge flower twisting 3's innocent side. What innocent side? The most innocent you'll ever see 3 is in utahime 5 and she was willing to keep a doll made from the flesh of humans and was indirectly responsible for One getting dragged by a sea monster. Without her sisters to keep her in check (ONE basically) 3 would go off the rail. One literally admits to putting 3 in the land of forest because, and I quote,: " the less people she has to interact with...the better" and One is the SANE one. Three's riddles are mostly nonsense, this is the same girl who made a math riddle and is bad at math and misquoted the sphinx riddle. If anything 3 is referring to Zero bring a slave to violence. She wasn't referring to all intoners, her only remark about all intoners that made sense was about the ouroborus and how they are drawn to kill each other (well, really zero drawn to kill the sisters). 3 is sharp but she doesn't care much for it, she just likes her dolls and that's ALWAYS been the case. 3 has little if any internal struggle with the flower outside of branch E and D. As much as people dislike 4, 4 never targeted innocents and genuinely made a good nation. Unless you want to argue that 4 has a stronger mental state than 3 which would be ludicrous as 4 has the weakest mind, you could say how 2 lost her mind but Two was literally traumatized to a degree no other intoner aside from ...One maybe? Has been.
