I adore both versions. English is heavenly, I'm amazed furiaes voice actress took it upon herself to sing too. But i really like the japanese versions mumbling tone, she sounds so weak and exhausted like it takes way too much effort to sing.

Both version is pretty amazing, but Inuart's ENG VA just hits differently. His manic, despairing intonation in ENG just makes this even more darker and unsettling, which is what it should be in the first place. JP makes him sound a bit more heroic, and even positively triumphant when he says the line "No more Gods, we are free!!!!", which feels out of place compared to the powerful, laughing like mad delivery of the ENG VA.

oh fuck finale fantasy did decide to try and distantly connect itself to nier and by extension ad EVEN MORE TIME TRAVEL SHENANIGANS to all 4 series involved....cant wait for when someone sits down for nier or kingdom hearts trying to make a game that ties any and all lose ends only to find out it needs to be the brain child of like 4 dudes who will either hate each other or fall in love trying to figure out how to convince the mouse caim and 2b need to decapitate goofy and donald in addition to atleast 2 outta 3 yoko taro ideas to make the game work

Before the war destroys the world, punish them for their treachery. Don't let their allies stand in your way. Objective: You lost your Keyblade and your allies deserted you. But you refuse to aid Rumplestiltskin in slaughtering your enemies of flesh and blood to acquire new strength. Find an alternative ! Objective: Your Replica, for being deemed the more interesting, received the power you were denied by that Outsider, but it's still not enough for him. Use your broken hands to punish him for his justified greed and wrath. Objective: The Wraith Mask accepts the offering which guides your Keyblade. End Xion's lunacy for altruism. Break through her armor, and force her to take your horrific power for herself. Objective: Your best friend may have broken all plans, but he gave you a chance to live, and you can now feel him through the mutual hunger between yourself and your original self. Claim Kingdom Hearts and use its power to save both. Devour anyone who stands in your path. Objective: Roxas and the Wraith Mask opened your eyes to the lunacy you were about to commit. Defeat the assassin you thought to hold all answers, and procceed to Kingdom Hearts and Xemnas. Objective: The puppet no longer follows your advice, and your symbiotic mate steals your power. Return the favor. Accept the Outsider' gift. Draw from the Void and bend the walking black hole in front of you to your will. Save your best friend ! Objective: The Realm of Darkness staves off their hunger, keeping your power in your heart. Battle the Heartless to stay alive. Turn from princess to queen. Objective: You hold a half of the mask, he holds the other. Roxas lives in the between for it, but the blessing forces you to devour your progenitors, and vice-versa, cyclically. Tear each other apart until the Realm of Darkness and the path to Kairi becomes available. Objective: DiZ's borrowed time is at an end, but no enemy is truly defeated until their spirit is broken. Destroy his inner Sanctuary's inhabitants and quench the bloodlust that has filled yours. Objective: Despite her crime, she was as justified as Riku. Aid her in battle. Show her she can crawl back from the pit once the fight is over.

What if we've been looking at the timeline all wrong ? For example, what if there are actually two Cathedral Cities (although the city is said to be on the Iberian Peninsula, in the original game, it's located outside the map, beyond clouds) because the timeline is actually this: -Drakengard 3 (routes C and E); -Tokyo, 2003; -Drakengard 1; -Nier; -Nier Automata (route C). What if Brother One and his cult were the ones who came up with project Gestalt ? What if he's the reason the Gestalts became violent before the Shadowlord was thought of ? What if the Seeds are actually clones of Emil and his sister that are harvested by the androids to be turned into angels/Watchers, with those who disobey being twisted into dragonhood ? What if the Empire's crusade is the reason humanity is so spread thin in "Nier", and without any knowledge about technology, and with little to no use of magic ? What if that's why Brother One was exiled from the church ? Because his red eyes were too similar to that of androids and Salt creatures, meaning he could turn humans into bloodthirsty creatures too, the same way androids and the Legion were ?

The lyrics are similar to the English Growing Wings, but the incest imagery is stronger. Growing Wings plays it down quite significantly.

Yeah. I can't understand Japanese but I just don't feel the impact of their voice. Even in anime, I like some Japanese dubs better than English even if I can't understand. Drakengard EN>Drag-on Dragoon JP. My opinion, of course.
