I get celebrities voicing their opinions on makeup and fashion where there is no right or wrong, but why has it become a trend for them to be so comfortable giving skincare advice? Lol skin is an organ and relates to health. They wouldn't be telling us how to treat our insides without a bunch of disclaimers that they're not doctors... it should be the same with skin.

Well I mean, there shouldn’t be anything wrong in celebrities sharing their routine. Most likely their subscribers asked them to... and why would you as a content creator say no? If you've got “good” genes, it would be appreciated if one mentions so and not accredit it to the products that they use. It would only be a problem if they speak as though they’ve read thousands of books and have studied biology or something... sounding like they know a lot about skincare... unless they do know, then we are in no place to say they don’t know what they’re talking about. Celebrities aren’t all clueless. They aren’t dumb. Just because a celebrity is good at one or two things doesn’t mean they wouldn’t know a lot about skincare... and just because some of us may know more about skincare doesn’t put us in the right to say they don’t know what they’re talking about. That’s unfair. The point of sharing things is to educate and BE EDUCATED. So I think it’s perfectly ok for someone/ celebrities, might I say, to share their skincare routine. Not because they think they know what’s best, but because their subscribers most likely asked for it, maybe?? And coz they felt like sharing it! Just my 2 cents. Love from South Africa❤️.
@briterry49613 жыл бұрын
She recommends a lot of things in this video that Dr. Stephens has pointed out to be incorrect like over steaming the face. Her disclaimer was: "Not everything I do may work for you, some of it might work for you". That's not the same as saying she's not qualified to even give skincare advice and she never mentioned her genetics. It's not that nobody can share their routine, it's about making sure impressionable people who are less educated about skincare know that following a celebrity's skincare routine just bc they have good skin and seem like they know what they're talking about could ruin their skin.

LOVED your video! Awesome feedback. The only thing that I would have to "disagree" with you on is what you said about using fragranced products, particularly on babies. I'm a chemist, and I must say that it's not the "fragrance" itself in the product that's harmful. It's generally phthalates in the product that can irritate people with sensitive skin, especially babies. There are a number of skin safe products that have fragrance, that do not have phthalates in them that are awesome. :) Anywho, BEST WISHES! Keep the vids coming. :)

I watched Jada's routine and took from it the things that I wanted. I enjoyed her perspective on what works for her without judgment. I can agree that as a doctor you may know more but it is also not an exact science caring for the skin. Doctors are taught in general but unless you've met and worked with each person individually then you can't say what works and what doesn't. Doctors have prescribed things that could easily have been detrimental to me and only through trial and plenty errors I have found what truly works for me. If the docs really knew everything then why so many different opinions on the one topic. People please do what works for you as there's no duplicate of you in the world that anyone can test on, perfect and then set you up for life.

I have some questions! I'm an esthi and I want to make sure I am giving correct info. The reason I tell people to use retinols at night is because of the increased rate of cell turnover and having that fresh skin exposed directly to UV just damages the fresh skin that they paid for when they bought the product. I do say however that vitamin c is a photosensitive ingredient and can cause further damage and burning if not protected with sunscreen. Is that correct? Also, I'm going to look into those microdermabrasion options that are better for PIH. My hearing is poor, but it sounded like the second one you said is "silk peel". Is that correct? Thank you Dr. Stephens for all your hard work! You're amazing! 💜

Not surprised here, it goes to show when you have amazing Gene's it really doesn't matter what the heck you use or do to your skin. Unfotunately, some of us are not that lucky. I really thought she would have mentioned protecting the skin with sunscreen after all that🤷🏾♀️

Thank you so much for being a voice of logic & reasoning. Too many times prople watch these videos, buy the products & wonder why they don’t look exactly like Jada. They always forget about the genetic aspects and she has dedicated resources, which MOST people do not have access to!!! Just keep things in perspective.

PeCleanse is to be used alone to prep skin for cleansing. You used it alone then add water unto face to form milky consistency which breaks up the oils on skin . Her routine seems to work for her I guess 🤷🏽♀️

Thank you Dr. Stephens for decoding one of Jada’s facial routines. I’m no doctor, but she’s definitely doing too much (the multiple steams, 2 retinols, microdermabrasion machine, etc.) and that her genetics, lifestyle and diet play a larger role in her skin’s condition than her skin care routine. I like the avocado and honey mask though. It’s true that some people just have beautiful skin.

OMG Dr. Alexis facial reactions had me rolling on the floor laughing 🤣 & this video made me fall in love with this channel. She kept it all the way real on Jada's routine. Jada has good gene's that's the reason she has beautiful skin but this skincare routine is ridiculous.
@teeforthewin3 жыл бұрын
Maybe she’s born with it... a lot of people look to others for their skin care routines and think that what those people do will work for them and sometimes it’s just the fact that they have good skin. I’m sure if Jada did none of these things and washed her face with dish soap it would look the same way. She just has good skin.

@teeforthewin3 жыл бұрын
@@jassmith560 It’s called sarcasm... She could use almost any type of wash on her face and she’d look like that. The fact that she does all of that to her skin at one time is insanely excessive even if it is once or twice a week. It should be 🚫 times per week. Professionals don’t even do all of that. She doesn’t know what she’s doing. That’s it.

So glad to hear someone say that water is not the solution for dry skin- speaking as someone who used to drink copious amounts of water and still had dry skin in places as well as acne and eczema.
