I think ppl have to remember tht she is showing what works for her/her skin. I cleared my acne in my early 20s using products that was way too sensitive for one of my friends, and my friend kept their skin clear with products tht when I used them tore my skin up when I tried them. I enjoy seeing the difference in what others use and do and what works for them.

Please DO NOT think doing Jada’s routine will make your skin look remotely like hers. Her skin is the DIRECT results of genetics, diet, and exercise. The fact that she has an expensive machine at home as part of that routine, uses some very expensive products, AND sees her dermatologist on the regular doesn’t hurt matters either 😂

I get celebrities voicing their opinions on makeup and fashion where there is no right or wrong, but why has it become a trend for them to be so comfortable giving skincare advice? Lol skin is an organ and relates to health. They wouldn't be telling us how to treat our insides without a bunch of disclaimers that they're not doctors... it should be the same with skin.

Well I mean, there shouldn’t be anything wrong in celebrities sharing their routine. Most likely their subscribers asked them to... and why would you as a content creator say no? If you've got “good” genes, it would be appreciated if one mentions so and not accredit it to the products that they use. It would only be a problem if they speak as though they’ve read thousands of books and have studied biology or something... sounding like they know a lot about skincare... unless they do know, then we are in no place to say they don’t know what they’re talking about. Celebrities aren’t all clueless. They aren’t dumb. Just because a celebrity is good at one or two things doesn’t mean they wouldn’t know a lot about skincare... and just because some of us may know more about skincare doesn’t put us in the right to say they don’t know what they’re talking about. That’s unfair. The point of sharing things is to educate and BE EDUCATED. So I think it’s perfectly ok for someone/ celebrities, might I say, to share their skincare routine. Not because they think they know what’s best, but because their subscribers most likely asked for it, maybe?? And coz they felt like sharing it! Just my 2 cents. Love from South Africa❤️.

She recommends a lot of things in this video that Dr. Stephens has pointed out to be incorrect like over steaming the face. Her disclaimer was: "Not everything I do may work for you, some of it might work for you". That's not the same as saying she's not qualified to even give skincare advice and she never mentioned her genetics. It's not that nobody can share their routine, it's about making sure impressionable people who are less educated about skincare know that following a celebrity's skincare routine just bc they have good skin and seem like they know what they're talking about could ruin their skin.

LOVED your video! Awesome feedback. The only thing that I would have to "disagree" with you on is what you said about using fragranced products, particularly on babies. I'm a chemist, and I must say that it's not the "fragrance" itself in the product that's harmful. It's generally phthalates in the product that can irritate people with sensitive skin, especially babies. There are a number of skin safe products that have fragrance, that do not have phthalates in them that are awesome. :) Anywho, BEST WISHES! Keep the vids coming. :)

I cut out some of the cleansers, nixed the microdermabrasion, used a yogurt mask instead of avocado, skipped the retinol, and not as many steams. Ok. Im an Esthetician, 56, in Menopause and newly diagnosed with Leukemia (but lets keep the Leukemia out of this for now lol) , careful about too much steam also because it may dry you out. As you get older and want balance, steaming and scrubbing are not always good. Ladies we want our moisture on so many levels LOL!! I love that she uses her hands but be careful of the fake nails all the stuff it carries under the nail. Also too much heat and steam can cause tiny broken blood vessels. I'm not even a dermatologist and cringe when I kept saying that sting anyway your video was enjoyable. I would like to see a video in regards to perimenopausal or menopausal skin care, especially hydration. I fall into the category of perimenopausal and I'm struggling with my skincare I've never had skin issues before now I can't hold on to hydration and I'm tired of seeing these cute little 20 and 30-year-olds with their 20-step routines and then smile and grin and say they got their glow . How about some love for The Og's.

WHY do you care?? The vagina may be 'self cleaning' but truth is soap won't get rid of dead sperm spermicide and can harm bacteria. If you don't use commercial douches I see NOTHING wrong cause truth is just like we clean/keep our gut in check so does the vagina. You can't have males inside you, lubricants and sex toys, period residue and imbalance of yeast/antibiotics and not need to cleanse so get off your high horse IT WORKS 🤷😤😤🙄🙄😒

@@thebtchthathikes1008 maybe @XM is a doctor? Why else would they have patients telling them about douching? Also I as a woman also just think douching is unnecessary, the vagina is self cleaning thus discharge happens. Not to be in your business but ,maybe ask your dude to wear a condom or pull out? There are ways to get around avoiding douching.

I watched Jada's routine and took from it the things that I wanted. I enjoyed her perspective on what works for her without judgment. I can agree that as a doctor you may know more but it is also not an exact science caring for the skin. Doctors are taught in general but unless you've met and worked with each person individually then you can't say what works and what doesn't. Doctors have prescribed things that could easily have been detrimental to me and only through trial and plenty errors I have found what truly works for me. If the docs really knew everything then why so many different opinions on the one topic. People please do what works for you as there's no duplicate of you in the world that anyone can test on, perfect and then set you up for life.

I have some questions! I'm an esthi and I want to make sure I am giving correct info. The reason I tell people to use retinols at night is because of the increased rate of cell turnover and having that fresh skin exposed directly to UV just damages the fresh skin that they paid for when they bought the product. I do say however that vitamin c is a photosensitive ingredient and can cause further damage and burning if not protected with sunscreen. Is that correct? Also, I'm going to look into those microdermabrasion options that are better for PIH. My hearing is poor, but it sounded like the second one you said is "silk peel". Is that correct? Thank you Dr. Stephens for all your hard work! You're amazing! 💜

Thank you Dr. Stephens for decoding one of Jada’s facial routines. I’m no doctor, but she’s definitely doing too much (the multiple steams, 2 retinols, microdermabrasion machine, etc.) and that her genetics, lifestyle and diet play a larger role in her skin’s condition than her skin care routine. I like the avocado and honey mask though. It’s true that some people just have beautiful skin.

Maybe she’s born with it... a lot of people look to others for their skin care routines and think that what those people do will work for them and sometimes it’s just the fact that they have good skin. I’m sure if Jada did none of these things and washed her face with dish soap it would look the same way. She just has good skin.
