Drama and emotion for Nicholas Heiner in extreme medal race at 2018 Finn Europeans in Cádiz

Nicholas Heiner went into the medal race at the 2018 Finn Europeans in Cádiz having led all week. However in 24-30 knots, two capsizes and a last place dropped him to second. Ed Wright went home with the gold with Heiner taking silver.

Interesting. I wonder if he would have had more luck by letting the kicker/boom-vang off a little on the downwind legs. Of course its only a thought because I am not an Olympic sailor but I do know how to gybe a Finn at 25knts plus. :) Finn is a great boat, very seaworthy in my opinion.

Once that long boom hit the tide it was pretty much all over. Can't tell: is the board fully down? If so, maybe scope to retract that a little more, plus position the body further aft? Too little vang and it's a rock 'n roll nightmare, so you have to be careful about that. I'm guessing.
