Taeyang broke on to the world chart which never been done by a korean before. Which ment he the song was charting outside of Asia enough to be considered the top song in the world. Like Daft Punk before Kanye Sampled them. They were huge outside of America and had fans but if you went up to someone and ask them If they were a fan they wouldn't know who they were. Wedding dress was the first kpop song to be noticed by the world but didn't break through in America. They tried with a English version but it wasn't as good and flopped.

My introduction to Korean music was a song by Taeyang; it's called "I need a girl," and because of him, I got to know BIGBANG. I think it was Bad Boy MV. Bad Boy is one of my favourite songs now. But then I heard Taeyang... and in 2015 I just dived deep into BIGBANG music when I saw If You live in Bangkok.
