I think some of his music is overrated, but he as a person is not. His music and him just being himself helped me through a really difficult time in my life, but I understand the take on this. Personally, I love him, but I respect your opinion on that. I think that the way the media paints him is...just wrong? Like, they only play his mainstream songs, rather then some of the really fantastic ones like From the Dining Table, or Cherry, or Matilda, or Canyon Moon. I think that yes, his music is overrated in a way, the mainstream songs drive me nuts sometimes, but he himself is such a charismatic person, and I honestly kind of owe a lot of my mental health to his music. Without his music and other artists, I don't know if I'd still be here.

As a Harry styles fan, I kinda wish he wasn’t as popular as he is? I’m so glad he’s gotten so much recognition etc, but the newer fans make me almost embarrassed to be a Harry styles fan. Nobody can go to concerts anymore bc girls are going just to say they did or to show it off on social media. He’s just a show off artist now! He’s almost gotten too popular if that makes sense. Now if you say your a fan your either faking or get insulted of being “mainstream”. I know he was never a “small under ground little indie artist 🥺” but he wasn’t always this way, it’s hard to find someone who actually genuinely appreciates and understands his music now, everyone just likes it because it’s popular to like him now, it’s like a new aesthetic. I still love him and his music, but being a fan isn’t as fun as it was last year before Harry’s house was released. There’s no issues with him he’s unproblematic which is good, but now it’s the “fans” making everything problematic.

I will certainly be insulted by his fans but I don't find him authentic at all. Everything rings false with him, it looks like he cosplays artists who long before him dressed this way, it was a style already well recognized, the glam rock. And I yeah he's talented but people overreact by crowning him icon/precursor etc because he's not at all personally I find his music very generic and commercial. As a directioner I do agree harry is a little bit overrated. Dont come after me I love the boys so much but harrys house didn't deserve it. Im sorry I think the album was great but to be able to win a grammy it should atleast be meaning full. Half the time he was singing about wine. The only meaning full song was matilda, little freak, and love of my life. I mean matilda is a beautiful song that is very important to alot of people cause they can relate. And most directioners understand why little freak and LOML are so important. Its about the man he loved and wasn't able to be with. But most of the songs weren't that well written. and as a directioner i get mad because of the solo harries. The solo harries make him overrated and then make the fandom look horrible and toxic. I mean they are rude people and they come after the other 1d members. Many solo harries have told the other members to kill themselves. I mean louis wrote walls and never got any award for that. I mean the songs were gorgeous, about being part of lgbtqia+ community, or not being able to give someone up, or a song for his mom who passed away. And all the other boys have meaningful songs but they never get any credit. Many of the members have talked openly about how they felt like they meant nothing and it was always about harry. I love harry so please dont come after me, im being honest and stating my opinion. Its not harrys fault and im so happy hes gotten as far as he has but there are way more meaningful things then drinking wine, sex, and drugs.

I’m a huge harry fan, but honestly he can be bit overrated, and does some questionable stuff. I’m not one to argue on people when they say he’s overrated, because well…he is. As someone said in the comment section, being overrated does NOT mean his music is awful. I’m in for everything he does, like I said, he does wear(any harry fan can agree some outfits are NOT it)…..and do something questionable things, but really people are allowed to have their own opinion. The thing what I do not understand is that people are "hating" on harry saying that he is "over rated" but what about Taylor swift? ( my opinion ok??? ) I personally don't like Taylor's music at all! Harry Styles in one of the most successful artists of this generation for a reason. he is an artist he makes proper, original, creative, unique, special songs. Every single song on this album is different; this means that there is a song for everyone on this album. He may be overrated for some people and I respect your opinion but this person deserved his grammy. he worked so hard and he is finally being appreciated. I've never really been interested in Harry styles and his music to be honest, but I have to say he seems like a really solid guy in any interviews I've come across so although I'm not a fan of his music I'm not really bothered by his Win I'd say I'm happy for him. I generally wasn't a fan of this years releases and I haven't really bothered to keep up with Any new albums so this might be why I am pretty neutral. I do agree with everything said in the video though, feels like Ben was articulating my own thoughts, thanks for another interesting video :)

my thoughts in a video! he's overrated but in the most respectful way possible. i still like his music, but im not a fan. not in the sense of going to every concert and knowing all the songs on all the albums. artists are people and they make mistakes, i get that. they should be held accountable for their actions. but defending a person BECAUSE they're a famous actor, singer, or bc they're your favorite artist, isn't ok.
