I've always loved Shinedown. Brent Smith has such range and texture to his voice. Through the Ghost, I'll Follow You, State of My Head and Dangerous are "newer" tracks they've done with a new look. They are a pretty complete band to me.

This is a tribute to LS & The singer that died & his widow. The’ re from the same town. The little girl at the end is holding his pic Van-daze (Not sure of name) It’s his granddaughter , & his daughter married the guitarist of Shinedown. Brent had trouble singing this cover for a long. My daughter told me about it. Would you do Monsters & Devil & I’ll follow you. I’m seeing them live for the first time in April. Thanks♥️

I loved watching your reaction to Shinedown’s cover. I’ve actually heard it prior to seeing the video here for the first time. What I also like is how you explained and elaborated about your logo (which is kind of what I thought it was how you explained it) and your new channel logo and name. You are not apologetic for who you are as an individual, and no one should have to apologize for that, ever. I thoroughly enjoy your reactions and philosophy! Keep on doing you!

I usually don't like remakes of songs either but shined down really outdid theirselves with this song you can feel the passion when he sings it you know it means something to him and it gives me chills sometimes when I listen to it.

On the "hits you different" another one where the original and cover are just amazingly great but they hit you different is "Hurt" originally by Nine Inch Nails just a wonderfully deep and dark song. But in the early 00's Johnny Cash got the ok the Cover it and he just made that song his own deep and dark. But even the original singer/songwriter said that he was apprehensive because of how personal the song was to him about his own addiction problems, but you can't really say no to Johnny Cash when he asks to sing your song. But after he heard Johnny's version he said something to the effect "Hurt" no longer is my song, it's Johnny's.

Morissette does alot of covers as well. I think you'd like her 2017 Asia song Festival performance, Banal Na Aso, The Reason, Stone cold, and I wanna know what love is. She has a very strong, powerful and bright voice. And be prepared for some of her signatures..along with just her voice, they will blow you away. Thanks

With this song I think most people feel is "better" because 1970's production vs 2010 production quality. But tbf Brett's voice fits this song amazingly. And the story about why they did this song is pretty fascinating.

I absolutely agree with you when you said each group puts their "seasonings" into a song and it doesn't make it wrong unless they lose the meaning in the song. I personally prefer Lynard Skynyrd's version but it doesn't make this version wrong.

I like covers, but it's usually because the cover is my first introduction to the song, and I don't know the original artists. So far I rather enjoy the ones you do of the original artists also, but it's just a little old school and I'm not used to it. LoL

I agree with you on the "covers." The prevalence of them nowadays is not unlike "rock ballads" were in the eighties... every rock band had to do em because the recording industry required them. They wanted the "air time" on radio to ensure that money would be coming in to offset the cost of production... plus, it gets the artists/bands exposure.
