Favorite group since the 60's when this band was called Toy Factory. Toy Caldwell wrote 95% of the songs and said he could hear the arrangements in his head! Also, he never spent days writing the songs, only like minutes,, because he said the spontaneous songs kept more of the meaning. Also, this band tried to record "live" because they didn't like dubbing. Wow! Today's so called bands can't come close to the southern boys and southern country rock, as Toy called it in an interview.

I found your channel through the Curtis Lowe video retraction you did. These are the songs I grew up listening to as a kid. I go back to them for the same reasons you say you enjoy listening to them! It’s more of a better place in time that makes me feel okay again vs in the times we are living in now. I cannot wait to hear the rest of your life story my friend! Thank you for speaking up and sharing as it is letting me know I have a kindred spirit out there feeling much in the same way I am in this crazy ass world we are living in now. You have a friend here - I appreciate you!

I am 60-1/2 y old now and Marshall Tucker was big for me coming up in the 70s 80s. I got lost in the rat race being a brick and stone mason. Today I have the time to learn to listen a listen to learn. When you say true stuff I get to lean forward and say I could be this guys friend threw thick and thin coming up. You know 10,000 may fall around you and you don't have to be in that mix. My boxing coach would always say a 1/4 miss is as good as a mile. Your grand mother story is wicked cool.

You have just started on Marshall Tucker Band. I've seen them live twice in the 70's. They have a style that most southern rock bands don't have. They were very unique in their style of playing and writing music. I love this band, many of the original band members are gone but not forgot by me.

Brother, this music is more precious to us Southerners now then when it first was released! It reflects a way of life, a mindset and a freedom that we are fighting desperately to hold on to. Southern Rock feels like the last Bastion of freedom in an insane world. Yes, life is hard in the South and always has been. However, we have a deep, ingrained culture that binds us together through our faith, our manners, our cooking, our word on a handshake and even our Strange language that people don't understand! Oh...and we will overcome those hardships together, like we always have.

"Heard It In a Love Song" is one of my all-time Fave's from them. I'll tell you what, I wish more REAL people would be more forthcoming in their own life experiences like you do. I not only learn, but I can relate on some levels too. Do we have a like upbringing, even the on the remotest of levels? Probably not. I could sit right next to you at a bar counter of any kind & listen to your stories for hours Pal. I'd be honored if one day down the road, something in this twisted world would allow that to happen. Two cool cats from two different backgrounds, kicking a couple drinks back & just shooting the shit. Anyway, PEACE to you & man, your story sure tugs at the heart-strings Bro (kinda' like a good Fender).

You and I share many things in common Drama. My love of music comes from my mother through her mother as well. I'm born and raised in NC just North of the SC state line. I'm half Tarheel and half Sandlapper I've always said. Your reaction to this song is dead on. It is a open highway, windows down kind of song. But it isn't your 1st time hearing the Marshall Tucker Band. You reacted to Can't You See a few days ago.

I’ll reiterate again, this in fact was the first Marshall Tucker Band video I did, it was originally blocked by KZbin and magically appeared today, though it still says it’s blocked for me. I can provide screenshot if need be. I never lie to the people
@Gashouse694 жыл бұрын
@@DramaSydETV I apologize if I came across wrong. It's the reason I hate the written word, it can lack context at times. I wasn't trying to infer that you were lying. I just assumed you didn't immediately realize the earlier song was by them as well. I remembered you liking it too and was merely attempting to remind you. I didn't realize this one was actually the 1st, was blocked, then reappeared. It shows todays date which added to my confusion as well. It was a simple misunderstanding and the questioning of your character was never my intention. I've been watching you too long to think you are anything but honorable. Please accept my apologies.

As a displaced country boy, you have an understanding of music that many of us Military/Overseas Brats have. It takes us back to places/people we've been/known. Music is a very powerful memory trigger, good or bad, and it can instantly remind of you of something you had not thought of for years/decades. This is some of the music I grew up with in Germany, and it always brings back those memories. Thank you for sharing your memory of your grandmother and making that connection. You're right, I subscribed because it is easy to see you don't just listen to the music, you also feel it.

Apart from The Allman Brothers Band,The Marshall Tucker Band would have to be my pick as the best representatives of the Southern Rock genre. Pick any of their albums between 1973 and 1981,and you will not be disappointed in any track. If youre from Carolina,then you'll love their "Carolina Dreams" album from 1977,especially the track "I Should've Never Started Loving You",but if you want a real tear-jerker ballad,you have to listen to "Asking Too Much Of You" from 1978s "Together Forever - vocalist Doug Gray is in his realm.Something a bit more upbeat,you gotta listen to "Ramblin" live from their 1974 album "Where We All Belong",but the list could go on and on - regardless,its a journey you will enjoy,especially getting to know the late great Toy Caldwells expressive guitar work.
