I believe the proper UN label is not warming but boiling. Also, how much water is that compared to a water bomber? Now how much fuel per min does the heli burn compared to the fuel per hour the water bomber burns. Also, Why use a fire extinguisher to put out a burning house.

Interesting short. Demonstrates clearly that with heavy load helis need a component of forward flight to achieve climb. Not just the rotational lift of blades, but the lifting foil of the forward moving blade disc.

Great pilot. But we have to think of more efficient ways of getting more water airborne to put out wildfires

right like those big planes with the sprayers for crops, we need that we like flat streams instead

@@chasesprinkle5467they make fire fighting planes for that purpose but they aren’t crop dusters. Crop dusters hold 1000 maybe 2000lb of water used to apply roundup or pesticides, while firefighting planes can hold 10,000lb plus.

@@austinhunt8050check out the AT-802. It's just an ag sprayer modified with floats so it can scoop from lakes and dump water on fires.

I imagine this was his 'circuit' or fastest ingress egress allowing time for the loaded chopper to maintain safe altitude at the end of the lake when going back to the fire

Tell us you don’t know how to fly a helicopter without telling us that you don’t know how to fly a helicopter. You need a low departure angle that’s long enough to safely gain altitude while flying into the wind. That is while paying attention to your torque percentage, and trying to control a 900 pound load of water that’s swinging around underneath you.

The rate at which a Bambi Bucket loses water primarily depends on several factors: Bucket Size: Larger Bambi Buckets can hold more water, but they might have a higher rate of water loss due to their larger openings when releasing water onto a fire. Release Mechanism: The rate of water release can vary depending on the design and technology of the bucket. Some Bambi Buckets have controlled release mechanisms that allow for precise water drops, while others might have more rapid or continuous release methods. Altitude and Speed: When a helicopter is flying with a filled Bambi Bucket, the speed and altitude at which it travels can affect water loss. Higher speeds or altitudes might cause more splashing or increased spillage. Environmental Conditions: Wind speed and direction can influence water loss. Strong winds could cause water to spill out or disperse more rapidly from the bucket during transport or while dropping onto a fire. Pilot Skill and Technique: The skill and experience of the helicopter pilot in managing the bucket's release mechanism and flying techniques can also impact water loss. Specific data on the exact rate of water loss from a Bambi Bucket may vary significantly based on these variables and may not have a standard or uniform measurement. The primary focus during firefighting operations is generally on effective and efficient water delivery to combat the fire rather than measuring the rate of water loss from the bucket itself.
