crazy how many ppl don’t understand the full context that happened before this. There was a ringer/sound that went off during his approach setup. instead of resetting himself and refocus his shot, he played through it and resulted in his bad throw due to being thrown off by a sound during his set up approach. hence why he said “i shouldve stopped”.

Great tournament for Belmo. Incredible win for Deeron
@christopherbramwell82625 ай бұрын
32-23-5 is covering a lot of boards. Belmonte is quite accurate. Especially for a power player. Then, if you get a little fast with ball speed or if the ball catches a bit more oil from the lanes breaking down, it's a 2-10 combination. "Straight is great". Belmonte can throw the ball straight. And. He can COVER LESS BOARDS. I think that the less boards, within reason, that you cover, the better off you are. Ya' have to be able to pound the pocket. Like Walter Ray does.
@gavinwinkler11475 ай бұрын

An errant shot for a player of his caliber. You have to feel for him though. All of these players are focusing on every shot to make a cut to advance and this bad break came at the worst possible time. With the exception of the T. of C., no one is guaranteed a paycheck until you make the cash cut. Out of the current top contenders on the tour, Belmont has one of the best mental attitudes/mindsets on the tour. He manages his emotions extremely well. He arguably has the best physical game of anyone. 8 time Player of the Year. 31 titles now is it? 15 majors? He is only 39 or 40 yrs. old. so if he continues to stay hungry for titles, look for him to be proclaimed one of the greatest.

Everyone’s been there before, need a good shot and they get in their head ever so slightly but still try and execute. I’m sure some are excuses, but we’ll never know what they felt in that moment. Sometimes in my head I say “don’t miss this pin” and I usually miss it due to a lack of focus 💀

@drwisdom15 ай бұрын
The 2-8-10 is an extremely hard split and a backup ball is definitely the best approach to getting it. But even that split is easier than the 8-10. The best approach for the 8-10 is to whack the 10 pin hard hoping it bounces off the side wall and gets the 8.

What he means with stopping? Im not familiar with the rules.
@ianhoneycutt38582 ай бұрын
Essentially what happened was someone dropped something in the stands when he was setting himself up to throw the ball. What he meant by "I should have stopped" is he should have put the ball back on the rack and mentally reset himself to prepare for a better shot. 90% of bowling is mental. This video proves it

Belmo knew he should have threw his spare ball right at the 1/3 pocket in the tenth that he left that 8-10 split. HE AND TACKET BOTH with there power, rotation and entry angle can leave ugly splits that are not make-able and i knew that is what was going to happen in the tenth, i told my wife before he let it go. He knew after he threw it.
@DS-qz2gu5 ай бұрын
Gonna restate my reply to your other comment here because this is just silly. First, this is not what happened; Belmo was saying he “should’ve stopped” because somebody made a noise in his approach and he didn’t stop and reset. Second, using his spare ball when he needs a mark would make zero sense. You can easily leave any combination of 4-6-7-10 if you get it high at all and there are all sorts of other nasty splits you can leave if you don’t have angle into the pocket. No professional would even consider doing that unless they just need count.
