Babies!! It simply AMAZES me how new mamas go into survival mode. I was almost 27 before I had my first and I was clueless! “Look what I found Mom!!” Good boy Capone!! Great job Dr Anderson and Beth!! 😊

Congratulations! They are so adorable. You two amaze me, I love your heart. I’m no expert on dogs but I think Capone was trying to herd the piglet back to Momma and the piglet was not cooperative. Dogs pick up their puppies by the back of their necks. Hurrah for Copone🎉🎉! If Capone was mean you would have had some dead chickens by now. Love this channel!

I agree Capone was brining her back to us. The only mark to the piglet was because it was wiggling so hard in his mouth. He would have easily killed it if he was up to no good. My boy!

Congratulations! Brooke you learned another life skill!! Is it common to lose so many piglets during a first birth? I know that part was hard to accept. But the 5 little ones you have sure are cute! Any idea when Waddles will give birth?

Thanks Julie! Chuck thinks it is common to lose that many, but we aren't 100% certain. Definitely a concern. We will see what happens with the next round dow the road. The 5 we have are so adorable!

oh my god at least the babies made it. You may want to check the pig pen and see how the babies escaped or put a fence around the area? Maybe also build crimson a new home away from the hill and make sure she has a fence to keep the babies safe.

We are so glad the ones who survived birth are doing well! Yes, we will be making new birthing areas that are more enclosed, with less chance of the babies getting away from momma. All the piglets are now living with the rest of the pigs in the main pig pen and are loving life! This has been a true learning experience, like so many other things we have experienced since moving here. Thanks for watching!
