Throwback to the amazing 2019 rescue of Alfie and Rosie by our partners, FPWC.
After days of searching, FPWC finally found these tiny cubs all alone in a dark and cold derelict building with no food or water in sight. The terrified cubs were frantically pacing up and down, clawing at the walls of their prison trying desperately to find a way out. Their frenzied digging was threatening to bring the building crashing down on them.
The cubs were taken to the FPWC rescue centre, where they received emergency medical treatment. Thanks to your support, they are now happy, healthy and we hope that one day they will be ready to return to their natural mountainside home.
Alfie and Rosie’s story is sadly just one of many. In Armenia, poachers are fined a measly $2500 for taking a Syrian brown bear from the wild, even though the species is IUCN red listed. THIS NEEDS TO BE CHANGED!
We’re pushing for a dramatic increase in the fines for poaching wild bears. With every petition signature we are one step closer to ending this cruelty once and for all!
