Currently, I am working in a notebook that was gifted to me. ❤ It has my name on it and a leather cover, I doodle, draw and journal in it; trying to experience new things in it too. It's very dear to me cause it's from my best friend I met this year, who also happens to be the guy I love. 😂😍

I have the large hard bound artist loft sketchbook, it’s not my favorite but if you’re a beginner it’s good because it’s thicker than notebook or printer paper and you’re getting lots of it for the price.

Completely agree! Sister in law got me the hardbound artist loft sketchbook for Christmas. She ment well, but I open/close, beat up, watercolor, etc. all over the pages. So the binding is coming off and splitting easily. It is great for beginner beginners, though. I prefer the Strathmore or Canson spiral bounds

yeah Artist Loft is not the best, but my Michael’s has SO much of that brand that i have to buy it if i want different art supplies

My canson sketchbook fell apart the day I opened it. Artist loft materials are usually a big nono but their alcohol markers can be good cheaper options for beginners. I usually use artist loft or strathmore they're surprisingly very nice.

I use the Canson XL mixed media paper, only I get it at walmart because its half the price. Its not the greatest paper in the world but when you're poor like me it works. XD - I love it. :3 I'm sure Strathmore is better, but its also unaffordable for me so XD

Yasss, I 100% agree with all you said on sketchbooks! Bound hardback sketchbooks are the best! Canson I don’t like ether. I have like a few of the XL ones that I haven’t really ever used cause I dislike them so much. 😂And the marker aisle.... so beautiful 😍 Micheal’s has the best marker selection by far! I don’t have a Micheal’s near me but I do have a Hobby lobby, now I’m gonna have to go!! Haha

I have few choices in my area since our art/craft options are Joann Fabric, Pat Catan, and WalMart. I decided to try the Strathmore sketch 200 series because it was the only smaller sized sketchbook besides the Daler-Rowney simply line that I already knew wasn't really great for anything beyond light warm ups or really loose sketches for ideas in my WalMart. The piece I did in graphite turned out really well, so I was happy at first. Left it in my bag like I did my simply and my Canson XL mixed media sketchbooks for nearly 2 years with no trouble. The Strathmore smudged and scrubbed to the point I have yet to get the heart to try to fix it. I was so glad I took a photo right after I had finished it or it would have been a lot harder to accept. I did finally break down and get another simply, this time hard bound rather than spiral, to see how I like that binding. I was really putting off studies and some practice I knew I would do in that simply sketchbook just because I see it as throw away in quality. So it created a small problem where when I want to use the Strathmore for a piece, it has to be where I will be at home only which is disappointing in a way. I feel bad having bought it and then feeling like I can't take full advantage of its size. Hmm, maybe my paper mate erasable color leads won't smudge like the graphite... I really need to figure out how to make that book portable without feeling like everything put in it won't be ruined.

I get the 8x5 Artist Loft ones and tbh theyre dope af. I do glue my pages together, just to make them sturdier, but the paper does hold up to watercolors well for just simple sketch paper

I was looking for a hard bound sketchbook like yesterday, walked into hobby lobby just to see what they had. I found Masters touch, and I Love it so much. Its the same one in the video. I tested my copic ciao in it and they didnt bleed through! Super excited to fill this one up!

I'm a Hobby Lobby fan. Always preferred the Master's Touch brand as compared to Artist Loft. Plus, they usually always have deals on art supplies and sketchbooks!!

The sketchbook journal at 10:02 those are really amazing to sketch in, but if you want to watercolor, just use lightwater on the paper. But I’m not sure about markers. I think color pencils are okay to use on it though. - information XXX

How do you have soo many sketchbooks(in the shop i mean)?? In my shop there are about 2 or 3 "sketchbooks" with about 10 pages and a A3 format. It drives me crazy that i can't seem to find a good sketchbook anywhere :(. Do you maybe have some suggestions on where you could buy some good, hard cover, mixed media paper? And i mean online because i'm from Croatia and Croatia is pretty far.

Michaels doesn’t have as much of a variety of sketchbooks like hobby lobby does. Best part is, they’re opening a hobby lobby that’s part of the mall that’s 10 minutes away from me😀😀😀

Arguementively, I prefer the spiral bound. I like the really big 11 by 14 sketchbooks, and having the spiralbound makes it so It takes up less space. Plus I dont get that really annoying bend that the hardbound ones have near the center. I don't like hobby lobby because of their history.

I just wanna point out some cons about artists loft sketchbooks -markers bleed into the other page -binding is lazy and falls apart -if you rip one page out it ruins the next few pages

I have Daler Rowney sketchbooks, I got two of them, and apparently they do come apart easily. One has the spine ripping off, so I put duck tape on them, and the other has it’s separate pages coming apart, it’s starting to do that (and I just got it! I’m gonna get a book glue fixer and mend it back together). I don’t have a hobby Lobby or Michael’s in my town, Michael’s is my favorite, a different town close to where I live had built one and I’m hoping to go there, and if they ever build one In my town I would like to work there. I’ll probably try those ILLO sketchbooks, I’ll probably get one for Xmas.
