A woman, who worked as a cleaning lady at an American school, dreamed of her intelligent son attending the elite institution one day. However, a rich and rude mom mocked her for being poor and suggested that her son shouldn't be allowed to study there. This video is a well written episode. This shows that true talent will show itself and be rewarded, as shown by the janitors son being accepted by the state school for gifted children. It also shows that in the end a parent will do anything for their child if they are truly supportive. The mother of the daughter would clean classrooms to make sure her daughter was tutored to be able to pass her exam. True to life, the mother did harm to her child by cheating for her, because she was not ready for the slot in the school that she was awarded. It is only fortunate that the woman's daughter was intelligent enough to grasp what the janitor helped her understand. It is amazing the things worked out in this story. What is amazing is that the writers and I must know the same boy and mother, because I have experienced that the mothers of gifted children that work for a living are as generous in real life as the janitor in this story. This is as I wrote in the beginning, this is a well written episode and is very realistic to life. And it had one of my favorite actors playing the head instructor of the school. The other underlying message I loved the most in this video is that talent doesn't stop just because you get rejected from a place (even unfairly) and that it is not the end of the world. If you have the talent or the determination to continue working towards your ambitions, you will shine brightly and succeed in another place that will give you a chance as we see with Joan's boy. This is what has always happened to me. But I have zero tolerance for prejudiced and petty-minded people. Being rich doesn't buy class and sophistication.
