Awww. You killed the Looking Glass Knight too quickly. Although not executed well, I love the concept behind this boss. It may be worth your time researching after your playthrough...or using a Bonfire Ascetic to respawn him. Your Community will be able to give good advice on this. The fight with Looking Glass Knight is one of the coolest in the base game aesthetically and mechanically. LGK is not very tough on his own, but he can summon NPCs or even actual players to help him. The animation for this is also pretty cool, as you might guess, it involves mirrors. You can even be on the other side of this fight, invading other players's worlds mid-bossfight to kill them and help the boss. Kind of a pity that you couldn't see this because the fight ended too soon. This is my main problem with summoning - most bosses in Dark Souls can't handle multiple enemies properly, they can aggro on the phantom for a long time while ignoring the host, giving you the opportunity to hit them with impunity. And NPC phantoms in DS2 are stupidly tanky so this often continues until the boss dies. On an unrelated note, the cat in Majula will have some new interesting things to say, check it out if you want. And Duke Tseldora was not Tark's master, it was a certain seething creature.

The endless stream of royal swordsmen at the entrance of Drangleic Castle was the game throwing you a bone so you don’t soft-lock yourself out. If you notice, the first one you killed with the crossbow, his souls didn’t fly towards you but went into the castle. If you had been looking in that direction you would have been able to make the connection immediately

The 2 throne room in Drangleic Castle is a fun place (ironic tone) in NG+ use an bonfire ascetic when you are finishing the game you will have a lovely surprise (ironic tone)

Great part once again :) I also think that Drangleic Castle is a really cool area with lots to find and explore! I have a few things against: 1. In the room with the different doors which you have to feed Souls is something you missed. It is a side-thing, but I would recommend doing it first, since it is also pretty significant. And it would basically conclude Drangleic Castle (for now). But I recommend checking this out, I am sure you will find it worth it :) 2. The Key to the Embedded is very obvious to find, you will not miss it. Since you said it might be in an NPC Inventory, this will not happen. So dont worry about it :) 3. Speaking of NPC Inventories - Chancellor Wellager has the Items you get for having the DLCs in his inventory. This is why those weapons appeared. 4. The Looking Glass Knight has indeed a cool feature, as others have said. So if you find more Bonfire Ascetics, it is 100% worth it to fight him again, this time alone. Keep it up, always looking forward to the weekly parts of Dark Souls!

It s that time again, time for the weekly comment for an absolutely lovely episode from Wuggs as always This episode was very loreheavy, very very so that it is time to start recalling the lore you have collected so far, but you did a very good job with the exploration and combat I had to rewatch the HN stream to know the situation, but I can confirm that you found all DLC keys and that there is not much left in the main game. However the lore will continue to get deeper and deeper the further you go into the main game (but I am sure you realized that during this video). In this case I would highly recommend a 10 -15 min recap for yourself regarding the lore you collected till now because it can become very confusing if you are not up to date with the lore (although you wrote eveything down on the board, you may need to find certain connections of the written down lore) BUT the next area(s) will tie a lot of things together. So about the area(s) that are to come: I won t say anything but I would highly recommend, -if possible- to not do the DLCs yet but to continue with the next area(s) without getting distracted by anything else. VERY IMPORTANT STUFF COMING UP so I would suggest a Freja-long episode if possible (but it is always your decision 😉I am just a veteran recommending😅😁) One thing though: ----------- You re on the right track ------------------- Next episode will be fire, and we ll be here for it !!!

The Looking Glass Knight, while I wouldn’t necessarily call it a difficult fight, it’s definitely one of the more fun fights for solo. The boss also has a super cool and unique ability that you unfortunately never saw, because you just outdamaged the fight too hard whenever your summon had aggro. His shield can be a huge pain in the ass when you have aggro all the time, especially with a greatsword! It is what it is. Lore is cool, so I’m not complaining. It is just a big shame that it comes with the cost of the boss fights (at least the ones that aren’t at dragon rider level lol)

Make sure you check both boss soul vendors to see new weapons every so often, as well as Maughlin. The reason why the dragon riders were separate was that one of them was shooting arrows at you, one was fighting in melee.

I'm so happy you started using the boards as well! Such a good idea ^^ I think Drangleic Castle might be my favourite area in DS2. It just looks so cool and the statues are fun. Love the cursed painting too I don't think it's necessary to kill all the Sentinels to open the last door, as that door was the first or second that I opened in my playthrough

By the way, you missed something in that room at 44:19! Also, keep an eye on wooden chests with locks-those are mimics. If I remember correctly, it's the same for iron chests as well. Hey Wuggs. Something I've seen other KZbinrs struggle with is how often in DS2 the path branches off, and I've heard some say it makes first playthroughs difficult for them. They have a hard time because they end up missing a lot of things or getting lost/stuck due to not keeping track of where they have and haven't been. I must say, I've been consistently impressed during this playthrough with just how well you've dealt with that, and how little you've actually missed. I know you have help from the community, but that's not what I'm talking about. I large amount of that is helping you find things you would never find on your own. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say... It's impressive you've managed to find so much on your own. Great episode BTW. I kinda wish the Looking Glass Knight wasn't such a beat down, but you're stuck on summoning no matter what... it is what it is, I guess. I'm sorry, but I'm never going to let it go. Aside from that, this a great, and very special playthrough.... maybe someday you decide to stream a lighter build no summon playthrough.... one can only dream. See you in the next one.

@@Wuggernaut SL1 is tough in DS2, but maybe not as tough as 3 or ER.... It's harder than 1 by a considerable amount. I suggest a crafted challenge. These are amazingly fun, and make you think. Barons Castle (one of my favorite souls youtubers) does some pretty extreme, and hilarious challenge runs, but I don't expect you would want to go that extreme. you should check him out though... ideas could be: cleric or mage items only Hex only endurance / vitality levels only specific weapon type only specific damage type only no estus flask (this is fun. Ive done it) etc.... Theres a hundred ideas. Think on it brother.

@@Wuggernaut give yourself some credit, my guy. You bought a lore board to work it all out.... that's commitment if Ive ever seen it. SL1 may be tougher than you think for this game. I suggest a challenge run. Taking specific parameters and holding yourself to them. It's really fun, and makes you think. I did a "no estus flask" run, and I loved it. There's hundreds of ideas, and maybe the community can help. Think about it

Looking Glass Knight is a fight you’ll want to do solo. It’s so cinematic with the lightning flashing and with the area being illuminated by it. Also, you can get invaded in the boss due to his mirror-summon mechanic.

Do you remember that sitting Mage NPC in No-Man's Wharf, who didn't want to talk to you? If you increase your intelligence level by just 3 (8 total), he might be willing to listen to you. Other NPCs talked about him (end of episode 2). You also might want to check on Licia (the clecic that opened the way to Huntsman's Copse at the end of episode 5).

Your ADP is at a good level that means you get quite a few s on your backsteps- you should try it out on your heavy havel tank character Also If you're playing on PC, you might wanna try out the DS2 lighting engine mod at some point, it makes the already gorgeous game 2x more beautiful and immersive Loving this playthrough so far!

Looking glass knight was imo the best fight in the base game, he has a really cool gimmick where he can summon npcs out of his sheild if you had drawn out the fight for a bit longer. Im not sure if its in the Sotfs edition but before he used to be able to summon actual players from their world to come help fight you as well. I would recommend upgrading your bow for the next area and lvl up your vigor a bit more if you can.

Wellager (the ghost) did have new material. Not sure the exact trigger for that, but those are all weapons that were available when you pre-ordered the original game, now standard as part of the remake (scholar of the first sin).

Guess you don't like back lefts! Just a couple of areas you missed that are worth checking. In the entrance to Drangleic, with Wellegar, check the back left of the area, you beelined the ladder in the back right and forgot to return. More importantly check the back left cubby in the souldoor/ruin knight room. Next time you have the fun of Armana, slow rolling in Havel's may make things harder or not......

Bummer that you missed the mirror Knight's signature mechanic, you and Bernhardt were too much for him. He uses that shield in curious and startling ways, but he never got the chance. You guys beat him down fast. The key to the embedded isn't exactly what you think it is, look at its stats before you use the key for its intended purpose. Fun trip with the havel theme. 👍 ( Yes, the Dragon Tooth is better upgraded...but there are more manageable choices ) Yes, the Royal Knights ring is the "Havel ring" equivalent in DS2. Praise the Sun. \ó/
