Thank you for the lesson. Just what I needed. Especially something 'simple' like how to hold and make marks with the pastel sticks is something you wouldn't know if you don't have a life teacher to hand. Also I got a much better insight into the nature of using the 'fat' sticks due to your commentary. The restrictive nature of it leading to freedom. Yes, thank you. You're a very good teacher.

Curious why you started with black pastel instead of charcoal. Especially at the beginning I would think that willow charcoal would be excellent since it’s so malleable. Regardless, love the tutorial. Thanks!

Are you using charcoal pencils?

I'm not using charcoal pencils with this drawing. I am using Faber Castel Soft Pastel sticks. White and Black. You can see a list of what I used in the description. Thanks!
