See, Dravid was hit on the Helmet by Brett Lee bouncer and his right ear was bleeding profusely. He had to leave anyway at that time. So Saurav declared the innings. But even more importantly, that was the 3rd session of 4th day and India needed to have much time in hand to bowl Australia out. However, in Multan 2004 Sachin was batting with Yuvraj Singh and although Sachin's batting was slow, it was the only the 2nd day. India was batting first and there was ample time left in the match with no rain forecast. Both these incidents were way way different from each other !

Times have changed a lot now, don't you think? The Australian team doesn't seem invincible anymore. I find South Africa much more difficult opponent to beat than Australia now. I'm actually surprised to see Indian team being this good once upon a time. Nevertheless, looking at present - Kohli team certainly looks special. Seamers that have always been a problem for us are although not amazing but better than before. Bowlers like Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar, Jadega being good with bat is another plus point. In test, we have always looked weaker under Dhoni but the mindset has completely changed since Kohli took over. Don't be surprised if this Indian team soon becomes the present invincible!

Avinash Aggarwal Becuase they thought LEAD of 231 would be less and Australia would easily get pass it..Infact,On last day they scored 357-6...So,I think it was ok To bat 3rd,Even in 2007 England Oval test,India was 1-0 Up and had 319 run lead so they didn't give England follow-On but batted till 180-6 and decalared...To give England target of 500 on Last day.. Although it also was a draw..But in 2007,Dravid was Captain and he was defensive and it was wrong to play when you are 319 run ahead..But here,Ganguly was right because i have seen many a times,teams not giving follow-on on just a Lead of 200-250,They want atleast 300 in The Bank and then only Ask Other tean to Follow-on because then it's alnost certain on a lead of 200-250 that you will have to come out to play.. Also,Because the Pitch was Flat and Kumble had taken 8 wickets in the 1st Innings of sane test match,He would have thought last day would be enough for Kumble ti crush Australia,But Australia saved the Test match becuase of Steve Waugh last day and we had to be satisfied with a DRAW.
