I have painted these cute chickens for me. I showed one person and she wanted one in teal purple and orange. So I painted it for her and next thing I know three more ppl thought this painting was awesome and I ended up painting their color chickens and gave some some people a great smile. I have finally found the courage to paint this for my dining room!! I've been painting for a year now and am at that I can't do anything right phase. Love your videos. Well, I did it! I painted these chickens and now get to smile every time I look at them! Only thing is my colors turned out darker, probably because I didn't mix them light enough. Anyway, it is perfectly imperfect, like me (ha). I'm going to paint this again but use much brighter colors. This was fun to create! My friends are tickled when I show my painting to them!

Cinnamon & John you are two of the craziest, loveliest people on KZbin so a big thank you to you both. Haven't been here for a while now but saw this crazy chicken (we call them chooks in Oz) painting and thought I would watch along.. always so far behind the crowd but what the heck (its nearly Nov 2024)... your videos are always fun Cinnamon. This will be my next painting for sure.. keep being you, I'm 71 and I love you guys!!! cheers and an early merry Christmas from Western Australia...**** 3 days later 1st Nov 2024...have just finished my 4 chickens (we call 'em chooks in Oz)..decided to add one more as I used a large round canvas.. did the spatter with 3 colours then added a few more colours with large Posca Pens.. not so messy :) what a lot of fun. Well,...this had me giggling and laughing out loud when you got to the top knots on the birds...and I completely lost it soon after when you finished the beaks and eyes. I am a beginner. Is the first thing you put on the canvas in lieu of say gecco?

Not usually. Most canvas you buy comes with gesso on it and ready to paint. You should be fine right out of the canvas. I am wondering areyou asking because your canvas did not take the paint the way you are expecting. Sometimes their is a coating to prevent mold that i think is hydrophobic ( to keep water off ) and it fights the paint. That can be helped by just painting a first layer or ground on it

What is a graliner, graner?

A Grainer is a brush where the edges of it are clipped and trimmed out a little bit so the brush makes me find any regular lines like hairs. A Grainier can come in any brush shape.

Oh my gosh, that’s a shame. I never even heard a rumor about that but I did hear a rumor about infidelity. People are always such a mixed bag or anything but I get that sometimes how we feel about the people affects how we feel about their art and I think that’s a very true point. Thank you for sharing.
