So are you using water color pencils to blend it out like that with the brush? If so, are all the pencils you are using watercolor pencils? Thanks!

Your art is so gorgeous and stunning! The details are amazing! I was wondering if for this piece and the eagle piece you used the same paper ; scrathmore Bristol 300 series?

Thank you! I actually used Arches Hot Pressed Watercolor Paper for the German Shepherd drawing, and I used Strathmore Medium drawing paper for the bald eagle drawing.

Good morning, Jessica. How are you doing? I hope you are well. I was watching your tutorial video here, and I was wondering how long it took you to fill in that small area around the left eye? I'd like to know. 😊
@jessicamatheneyfineart2 жыл бұрын
I can't remember off the top of my head, but at the beginning area of a drawing I do, it typically takes me a few extra hours because I am working through what colors work best and how to layer them to get the right results. That area likely took me 4-6 hours? From there the process is much faster because I know what works, and the other eye area only took me about 2-3 hours. 😀

@jessicamatheneyfineart4732 reply... Oh! Ok. Wow! Lots of focus time. Ok. Cool. I was wondering about that, because you really can't see the time it took on a laps time on these videos. Wow! 👍

I,m trying to colour a bunny. I am frustrated - I can't seem to get the colours for the base layer. I,m confused. Is pencil colouring like watercolour where you have to leave the white parts alone? Maybe the base colours are the mid tones like in acrylic painting but how do you put globs of white fur on top of a light coloured base colour? This bunny is primarily orangy tones with some white on him. Any help from anyone - I'd greatly appreciate it!

Are you using colored pencil? If you get enough layers on the paper, I suggest using the slice tool for white or light fur detail.

Thank you so much for share your first layer step by step, thank you for that! I think, the fur, and portrait pet drawing... It's difficult, because you have to draw the fur, hair by hair... Right! I can't do that yet, for me it's difficult 😭 you are an amazing wild life pet Artist in colored pencils!

I like to draw animals but I like to draw realistic and I like to draw what I see and I just never really think my drawing is good because it don't look real to me because it don't have color and I see artists use color pencils and I just think it's look hard but I think with help from youtube and maybe some music I can at least try what I got to lose?

The reason I absolutely hate technology is that it's hard to learn from a video. For example, I'm trying to use blending solution. It's just picking up the pigment and moving it around and it seems also like the solution in my brush doesn't go as as far as it does in the video. But since this is all online, there's no person here to see what I'm doing who can say what the problem is. Are my brushes crap? Am I using the wrong type paper? Are my pencils crap? Should I try a different blending solution? Am I not doing it correctly? I miss the days when people got together and someone could be taught hands on. Technology not only alienating but also frustrating.
