For me it’s always been House Targaryen. Fire, beauty, etherealness, dragons, empowered women? What more could you want? Rhaenys, Visenya and Rhaenyra are a big part of that. However, Daenerys, my queen forever, became my favourite character as soon as she hit the screen in GOT. When she got in that bath and wasn’t burnt, I felt that! I love a hot bath.

A house that uses and incorporates dragons is a good sign 2 me

This was incredible. I'm a huge fan of the fantasy genre as well since I find there's just so much fun and wonder with the stories that they tell as well as the various designs that they produce. I'm also a fan of your Drawing Disney princesses as Horror monsters since its always fun to draw something in a different genre. So seeing you do this with various fantasy characters is just amazing. Galadriel's looks like she's a wicked skeletal sprit who isn't afraid to show some of her more frightening and spooky side, plus I really love how she still maintains that ethereal beauty and mystery while still being an undead warrior that's always ready for a battle in either a haunted mansion, a dark forest or a graveyard. Rhaenyra Targaryen's looks like she's an amazing draconic beauty who still maintains that ferocious and dangerous presence of a mighty dragon and something I wouldn't want to mess with, plus I really love the serpentine look that really ties to the character and really shows how she's an elegant yet dangerous creature. Gandalf's looks like he's an ancient and powerful being who loves to show his powerful and magical abilities as well as his more spooky and mysterious nature that could potentially set someone on edge, plus I really love how his tattered robes and snake beard really shows the more frightening side of magic and gives off the appearance of someone you would face in a D&D campaign that would be a challenge to overcome. This was definitely a fun video and Its hard to pick a favourite since I love all of the designs from this video, but If I really had to choose...Id say that Rhaenyra Targaryen's was my favourite because her design is so simple but still shows some great details and she's just so awesome as a dragon/serpent human hybrid. I'd definitely be interested in seeing a part 2 to this and Id love to see you try to turn maybe Daenerys and Smaug into horror monsters since they are pretty interesting characters. Great job as always Mei and I can’t wait to see what you draw next.

You should reimagine horror monsters/villains as the hero. Like what would Freddie Kruger, the alien queen, the predators, Pinhead and other characters like that look like as the main protagonist in their movie universes

4:45 "In place of a Dark Lord you would have a Queen, as beautiful and terrible as the dawn"-Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring. There is really not as much difference between fantasy and horror as people often believe. The difference can often come down to one choice made by one character. 11:31 it feels like you didn't finish this because you didn't do anything with her eyes. Targaryens canonically have purple eyes. I feel like something needs to be done with that. Like make her eyes dead matte purple, or make them look like gemstones, idk something like that. 13:08 brilliant. Gandalf's original name, Olórin, means "dreaming". Dreams and medicine are controlled by the same angelic spirit in-universe. Plus, Gandalf is a character heavily associated with wisdom. So snakes makes a lot of sense. Also a character who narrowly avoids becoming a horror monster canonically. I would say that merely as character designs these are only a 2 in terms of scariness. However, because I'm so familiar with these characters and what they can do... yeah, they're gonna keep me up at night. Particularly Ringwraith Gandalf, so thanks for that :D.

I haven't seen any of these properties, but I love all of these monster designs. The first one might be my favorite for how the skeletal body transitions into ghostly wisps while also carrying that flame-like sword. As for the other two, the second monster design is an awesome dragon/serpent with suitably flaming colors, and Gandalf's monster form looks like a great combination of Medusa, Davy Jones from "Pirates of the Caribbean," and the pirate captain zombie from "Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island."

I see we're starting early for the Halloween season. You might want to consider doing a 28 days of Halloween series during the month of October Mei Yu just like there's a 28 days of Christmas. As for the artwork I find your horror drawings to be more in line with my tastes than your usual cute and cuddly artwork. Both are very well drawn but I have a preference for horror themed artwork personally. Hopefully you continue this series. Regarding the scariness factor of these pictures on the 1 to 10 scale you mentioned I'd have to say for me they're somewhere about a 6.5 on the scary department. If you want to increase this factor may I suggest looking up the Marvel Comics series of Marvel Zombies. Now there you have horror artwork I'd rate at a solid 9. Who to add to this series? I'd suggest although not quite from the fantasy realm turning Pokemon the famous pocket monsters into real horrific monsters an evil trainer would just adore having to destroy good rivals' pokemon in battle indiscriminately. No fainting here just sheer evisceration of an opponent's good pokemon by the evil trainer.

Gandalf looks epic!!! I think the Balrog would take one look at Gandalf and run away and find a few Orcs to hide behind lol. 😆 You should take all of your monster characters and make a video game. You have already done enough bad guys and big bosses you just need a few hero characters then you need a goal for the hero characters and then take them to a place that can help with game design. I imagine the game being either an online pc game like league of legends or a console creepy exploring game where you have to do all sorts of challenges and then fight a big boss at the end. I give these creatures an 8 out of 10. Can still sleep but its nightmare worthy. Also I've been sorta living under a rock with LOTR tv shows I love the movies and only seen 1 hobbit movie and I've never watched game of thrones. But I would have to pick the wolves. As much as I love dragons, I am loyal to wolves.

Love the horror challenges the most, not gonna lie😹 for another future project though, I would definitely love to see some love and attention given to the Disney non-princesses, like Megara, Esmeralda, Pocahontas, Kida...would also really love a racial diversity challenge, like how you will draw a character in 10 different art styles, so for example you can draw Pocahontas as her Native American self, then reimagine her to be from all the other wonderful places the Brits colonized (India, Australia, etc.)...and with Cinderella, even though we have been lucky enough to see a Latina and black actress play her over the years in films, I would still love to see your own take on the challenge and goes even further with it to include other rich cultures 💖

For me, the creepiest one by far was the first one. Undead stuff messes with my head. She'd definitely be the one to keep me up at night out of these three. That said, I like the design of the second one. Had Fire Nation colors. Also, the final one was fine until you said that his beard would be made of a lot of snakes. That got me jittery. :D Maybe... he's Medusa's long lost father?! Just kidding. :D

From what I've heard from Rings of Power you're better off skipping it. Your Galadriel would probably be an improvement over the massive b*tch Amazon crapped out. HIGHLY recommend House of the Dragon though. Admittedly had my doubts, gave it a shot and so far, I'm loving it!

I still love most of your promts and fun ideas, but I really wish I could see it, without the advertising of all your drawing books. I liked it better, when you talked about your drawings as you made them and the video was about that. At least put all the advertising in the end, so I can skip it.
