I love psychological horror, and how they play with the mind - plus if they’re beautiful. Contrast of beautiful and deranged is one of my favorite things. Silence of the lambs has a permanent hold on me and really got me into horror in general, and a trilogy i just watched is X, Pearl, and Maxxxine. They’re so cool and pair together amazing and Pearl specifically is so oddly beautiful? And it may make you appreciate the color red just a little bit, just maybe.

For reds I try to push contrast a bit more and really dig into the analogous colors (oranges, browns, purples, pinks) for value shifts and you can still do temperature shifts that way

I totally get the issue with technology. I used to know how to use a little bit of imaging editing software years ago but it's crazy how quickly things change. I would really love to make stickers, prints, and maybe coloring books one day but I don't even know how to get my illustrations digitized to do that I guess. 😅 Of course I imagine having a good scanner as part of that. But then there's the next step how do you turn hand draw an illustrations into things like stickers. I'm sure I'll figure it out one day I just need to keep researching. Also I love your commentary and I love you talking about the things that you enjoy, don't ever stop being you It's part of what makes your channel special.

Oh my gosh, Em, I'm literally always thinking about Jurassic Park. It's one of my favorite movies EVER. Another movie that's been on my mind a lot lately is Lisa Frankenstein! It's perfect for the fall vibes, but it's still a little campy and silly. And I feel like a lot of people are aware of it, but not a ton have actually watched it. Definitely recommend!

I relate to the Jurassic Park intrusive thoughts. Any time I see a colorful Jeep...Jurassic Park. My friend said that their dad got bombed while in the bathroom during wartime and I thought...Jurassic Park (even though it was a dino...not a bomb). I don't even watch that movie often. 🤣 Your color selection is always so beautiful! When you said stickers my mind went straight to a set with all of the produce. It could be called the farmer's market or...CORNucopia. 🥺🍄🌽🌶🍑🧺

In regard to your neon orange: I really like the neon orange that comes with a cheap ol' set of Prang colored pencils. I know you can't buy them individually, but in a pinch, it is pretty smooth and seems to have the same brightness as the Prismacolor neon orange. (It might take a little more pressure to get the same effect, though.) So, if you can't find a good match, try those. I wish Prang still used the same formula for colored pencils as they did in the 2000's and 2010's. Those things gave Prismacolor a run for their money. They were almost as smooth and creamy, but they cost WAY less! I miss them! 😢

This was perfect I put on your video and starting sketching some mushrooms. An in a strange turn of events, I am actually ONLY good at drawing mushrooms that are red. Maybe we can combine forces. I don't typically watch horror movies unless they generate a certain amount of buzz etc. I really enjoyed the Witch and though Midsommar was okay. Anything by Jordan Peele is an automatic watch for me since I am a black American I really relate to his work and love the thought and intention behind it. A great underrated horror flick that has gained a small cult following is The Autopsy of Jane Doe, I would highly recommend if you haven't seen it. For reference, I tried to watch The House of Usher on Netflix, got a few episodes in and it scared the pants off of me so I couldn't continue. So I guess what I'm trying to say is that it was TOO good. Haunting on Hill House and Bly Manor were both really good in my opinion.

Yay for sketching mushrooms! My favorite Jordan Peele movie I think is 'US" and he did a series of 'Twilight' as well which was so good but it got canceled unfortunately.
