DRAW WRITE NOW DIDN'T WORK FOR US, HERE'S WHY | HOMESCHOOL CURRICULUM UPDATE

Have you used Draw Write Now? If so, what's your opinion of it. What are some other curriculums you have tried for writing or drawing?

I bought 3 of the draw write now books used, and I was planning on starting them with my soon-to-be first grader. She is a perfectionist, so I do appreciate the warning. Maybe I'll try a few lessons and see how it goes.

I’d just make it super clear from the beginning that there is no failure. And make it fun. I so wanted to to work out for us.

You mentioned that your daughter is a perfectionist... my son is too. She did such a great job on the pictures. I have some draw step by step books and my son cried during one of them. So I can totally relate to that... this does look like an awesome curriculum though!

I'm so glad I found this video because I was totally considering this, but yeah..it looks too difficult for her right now.

You can always just try buying one of the books and seeing how it goes

Way to notice when a workbook is just not working! I've looked at some of the older levels of Draw Write Now, and I have definitely seen some really challenging drawings in there.

Since making this video I have seen some made through usbourne books and they look interesting. I may look at those versions.

My son struggles with wanting his work to be perfect as well. I found some simple directive drawings on teacher pay teachers that I plan to start in our up coming school year. Maybe some of those simpler drawings would work for your daughter.
