Scariest thing as an artist The OTHER EYE
@madelynncreswell6 жыл бұрын
Im 12 and im a pretty good artist who can draw realistically my trick to drawing the other eye is one part at a time. Draw the top part of the eye then draw the other eyes top part, then do the same for the bottom it makes it easier to match up

What an excellent artist with a great understanding of coloured pencil use. I'm trying to teach myself and you are the first youtuber I've found who doesn't blend using some form of medium, just using the varying pressures of each colour layer. Inspiring!

My own eyelashes are totally straight and short. They seem to overlap with my eyes. I’ve had to wear fake ones…but I’m allergic to most makeup and have very light eyebrows. I’m a ginger with long hair and very greenish blue eyes. I look like I’m frowning when I keep a straight face…I did my first self portrait and I did a pretty good job thanks to you! 😉

I’m a colored pencil artist and I never had a problem with eyes. Hair is a pain in the ass for me lol. I just don’t enjoy drawing the hair and rush thru it which is the worst thing to do. Oh and you’re incredible!
@babababa43977 жыл бұрын
I’m trying to follow this, I’m impressed, I kind of didnt appreciate how much the skin contours around the skull/eye socket but at 13.48 you can see how important the shading of this is to realism. I’m having trouble putting down the depth of colour with my Polychromos on Fabriano Bristol smooth, also I’m having trouble with getting the right skin tones, but I’ll keep experimenting. Many thanks for posting this.

Is that a polar bear in the child's eye?
@FannaTurano5 жыл бұрын
LOL Olivia! In the left eye, I saw a sitting leopard. The 2nd eye, I saw an angel. Perhaps it's like those ink blot tests psychiatrists use: whatever you need in your life, it appears before you, such as the most beautiful part of an iris, pupil. Did you see a polar bear in each?
@imbored49294 жыл бұрын

Thank you so much for your great cp-tutorials. They are a great help. Might it be possible to show some tricks how to get highlights oilbased cp? Unfortunately I cannot afford the Luminance and you said the trick with the knife only works with waxbased pencils. I work mostly with the Polychromos.

really nice, i have like thought about using a knife before for highlights but never succeeded in it andn ow thanks to our video i know it can be used as a technique
@KirstyPartridgeArt7 жыл бұрын
+DavidTheArtNinja yeah I do love using that little knife. It does take time to figure out the right angle to hold the knife at to get the best results but once you have figured that out the coloured pencil will easily glide off the paper 😊

Kirsty, is it easier to draw a a very large scale eye or smaller eye scale more difficult? Is this video available for watercolors? I have a kit of 72 watercolor pencils, not just colored pencils, but when water is applied, they blend. But I must say dear, that I've never encountered anyone who creates such incredibly beautiful eyes than you. :)
