I feel the same about Camilo. I watched the movie months later, and I had already seen a lot of fanart. So when I watched the movie, I wondered why Camilo didn't have a lot of scenes with Mirabel or in the movie in general either. I thought they were close from all the fancomics and fanart. Turns out he's very popular for the very little screentime he got.

Mirabel IS the next holer of the miracle, it was shown as soon as the movie started. Camilo has "Cam" in it, hinting to CAMoflauge, or Chameleon... Antiono has "ant" in it, Hinting to an insect "Ant", Both names cordinate to their gifts.. Mirabel has "Mira" in it, and it hints to MIRAcle.... so yeah!

Maribel's gift is controlling the house when she was sad or scared or even nervous the house would crack. But when she is happy and excited the house will dance and move. That is why the house fell down. And the reason she didn't get a door is because she wiped off the magic off on her shirt. (I hope this helped) (Also I'm not a 100% sure but this is what caught me when i watched it)

Fun fact: Dolores is the villain of Encanto because she can hear anything. Miribel is trying to save the Miracle by finding bruno. But dolores knew bruno was in the walls so she hide that secret that bruno is still in the house. In the song “all of you” she said “i could hear him everyday” that ment she wants the miracle to burn. 😟 Guys this is just a theory 🤠

Mirabel didn’t get a gift because Abuela needed someone to be the ruler of the candle at the time so when Abuela dies mirabel is the candle holder so Abuela gave Mirabel the candle when Abuela dies but she is gonna be the ruler of the candle instead of getting a gift and that means that she is gonna get the candle instead of a gift. I think that Merabel's gift is to rebuild buildings as in the end of the movie mirabel saved the miracle and she saved the Casita and on the door of the Casita was a picture of all the characters and mirabel was holding the candle so that means that Merabel will be the next candle holder.

Explanation of the sweaty hands theory: Mirabel touched the candle and then immediately wiped the magical candlewax on her dress with her sweat. Therefore, when she touched the doorknob, she didn't get a gift. Antonio didn't wipe his hands after touching the candle and he got a gift so people believe that she just wiped the magic off so she didn't activate the door and therefore, never got a gift.

I think he reason why Mirable didn’t get a gift was because Bruno showed the vision to Abuela Alma and she thought she was going to use the power to destroy the village so she didn’t give her a power?Thats what I think??

I think their powers are based on what they like because antonio likes animals and he got the ability to talk to animals. Just a theory though
