Is tan paper better to work with for laying down color than it is on normal white paper? Also what size is the paper anyway?

this paper is perfect for colored pencils, the colors will look amazing! Little bigger than normal A4

Tolg Art they look like they pop a great deal more. When I finish up the rest of what I have I'll see about trying some out. How do you decide how big/small the paper size should be for a project? I've been using 11"by14" but I feel it's too much area to fill for minor projects, however I fear that I might not get in the detail if it's small sheet.
