Loving this pattern. I place a sheet of parchment paper behind my page to prevent ink from going through.

I am SO excited you decided to share this technique with us. I've been hoping you would. I saw it in the background of a few of your pieces and tried to figure it out but couldn't. I'll be drawing this all week now! Thank you!

Love this. There was a similar one you did with bigger black areas.. it took me a while to see the white area as the negative and the black as the positive, as at first i wanted to draw the white shapes! Now with this one i see it straight away! Fabulous. Thank you.

The addition of the shading really takes it to the next level. I often draw insect wing-looking things, that are a somewhere between this and the arches you've shown us, but mine don't usually have the dimensional look of yours. Gonna have to try adding some shading, and see where it goes 😀
@SpectrumOfChange Жыл бұрын
Shading skill really boosts the other skills, hey?? I'm currently working on that myself. Best of luck!

Just a little shading can go a long way 😊. Now I really want to draw some actual insect wings.

I like This! It reminds me of Erwin Hauer's sculpture "continua in the plane" but without repetition. I tried to scetch these kind of patterns based on a voronoi-structure.
@betsi_jae Жыл бұрын
I hadn't heard of voronoi structures before, but wow thank you for the info. I just checked out a few articles and the uses of these algorithms are so interesting. Thank you😊

You can do it! Maybe you can try scaling it up, possibly using a larger marker. Sometimes a lot of issues come with using teeny tiny pens.

Your work is amazing....I just LOVE it ! On pattern #13, on your opening, you show a workbook cover in the background. How in the world did you do THAT one? I can't figure it out???? Do you illustrate how you did THAT one someplace? (It is similar to #13 but is more 3-D. ). If you have not shown how to do that will you be soon???? Thanks for inspiring us all. John

Ok. Now I’ve watched it a few times and tried it once and just started laughing. It felt like if it was a word I would need to have you use it in a sentence.😅 I would love to see it used as an element in a drawing as well as as a background. Such a fun thing.

Wow 🤩 I really like the look of the one you drew! Tried it myself just now, but I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong since I can’t seem to get to that effect of the “belly-part” overlapping / creating the effect you’re getting in your version. I hope I’m explaining it okay, but do you have any tips / suggestions for how I can get that effect / any thoughts of what I might be doing wrong? Would really appreciate your input! 🙏🏼✨
@betsi_jae2 ай бұрын
I'm trying to figure out what might be happening that you're getting a different look. Have you tried showing down the video? You can use the gear icon to slow it way down ( and then you should probably mute the audio) . You might be able to see what you might have missed.
@johnnoslen50987 ай бұрын
Thank you for your response....I thought that design was similar to #13 but are having problems making the suttle changes./ additions ???? I will try again. I plan on using 4 or 5 of your designs in a drawing I am working on. I will show you the results when I get it finished. Again THANK YOU SO MUCH ............
