I have been OBSESSED with Demon Slayer for the last two years and just NOW am I finally getting around to drawing all my faves from this show!! So here's my take on Sanemi Shinazugawa from Kimetsu No Yaiba, or Demon Slayer!

I want to see him give Nezuko an apology but he was sort of in the right for wanting to kill her. Nezuko is bril but nobody there knew she was. For all they knew Tanjiro was hanging onto false hope his sister was still there and that Nezuko was just waiting to kill him. So he was right for trying to as a demon slayer, demon slay. But with that being said he should give her an apology since that was a mistake he made. A mistake nobody can blame him for but a mistake nonetheless.

Like if a giraffe told the other giraffes that this one lion doesn’t want to eat meat anymore. 🤣 The common knowledge among demon slayers was that demons were evil beings with no hearts unlike humans. Though later proven false by three demons (Nezuko, Ms Tomayo and Yoshiro) it was the knowledge they had and many died from demons.

Sanemi is just a poor guy who's life kept getting fucked up over and over and he carried that survivor's guilt without having a proper way to mannage his traumas and emotions besides driving people away from him so they don't suffer 😢😢 He deserves a hug fr

For all Hashira, there is a reason behind their behavior. Same with Sanemi, so you shouldn’t hate him for being so angry and aggressive, It’s how he survived. And we should treasure him because of what he’s been through, cus under all that anger is a sweet and caring man

I don’t blame him for wanting Nezuko gone. Grief is a powerful thing which he probably knows and could’ve made Tanjiro keep a demon that was a danger. Of course this wasn’t the case but it could’ve been. I don’t know how he possibly managed to try and stab Nezuko because of her dang adorable nature though. And I probably never will. In the later seasons that I’ve yet to watch (I’ve got to Tengen’s intro as a real character) I really hope he gives Nezuko the apology she deserves.

Senemi is the type of guy that suffers pain quietly and takes all of the burdens to himself

Senemi hade a very similar backstory to Tanjiro with both there family getting killed by a demon the only survivor from the attack is one of there siblings, the only sibling they have left is a demon (or eats demons to get power ) having sibling rejection in a dream or in reality. Sounds pretty similar if you think about it but the difference is that Senemi chose anger and hatred but Tanjiro chose happiness and forgiveness.

I believe the correct way to pronounce his name is SA-ne-mi, with emphasis on the first part of the name. This is since in English, most words have emphasis in the middle, but the majority of words in Japanese (ofc with exceptions), has the emphasis on the first part☺️ Though, this is just from my limited skill with Japanese. Sorry for any inaccuracies😅.

I absolutely love Sanemi. Even if he’s mean he does have a heart( shown at the end of the manga) Sanemi is mean and try’s to discourage Genya to not be apart of the Demon Slayer Corps, because he did not want Genya to be seriously injured, or killed.

(Ftr this isn't likely going to be shown in the anime, as I doubt the anime will have anything from the spinoffs despite how much lore and character backstory they give)

This may suck, but in regard to siblings, I relate to Sanemi big time. I went through the same thing with my sibling only more harsh. I was in Sanemi's position. I was rejected first, so I rejected my sibling in return. I also have a raging temper but only when I need to defend myself, those I care about, or when I rage in a game. But yeah it's true, trauma can change a person. It sure did me, so I don't really dislike Sanemi. I can understand why he does what he does, but I wish he was kinder towards those who didn't do anything wrong towards him.
