I love using double-sided cardstock to make matching envelopes. When you open the envelope flap, you see the envelope is lined with either the same pattern you used on the card front, or a coordinating one. Beautiful project, as always. 🙂

Amazing how it tells you what color to insert. This card is so special. I make cards from using stamps. But ordered a cricut joy that is on its way. Wish now that I had paid extra $50 and got the bigger machine since it does so much more. Sometimes if I want to add dimensions on larger surface like card front, I cut 2 or 3 additional layers of cardstock & attach together. Makes cards stand up in mail better. really handy onhow to use the pens. However, how do you rate using the pens in a cricut versus just hitting print and printing it on a printer then cutting it out to add to the card? I am finding it hard to actually find a use for the pens that came with my machine!

On changing the colours once you have selected one colour, cant you just click the colours sync tab beside the layers tab on top right in design space and drag colours to whatever you want. (After you have chosen one first.) It would be nice to see the screen where it tells you when to load the next pen.

How do you change the order that the pens print? For. example I want to print a flower with 3 colors, yellow, red and black. I want the yellow and red to print as petals, the center is black and a black outline, I want the black to print last, to outline the flower after the red and yellow have printed. I have tried to change the order in the layers panel but the black never comes out last, it comes out either first or second. Is there a way to change the order? Thanx for the help.

Hi Bethany. I am not sure if you go back to older posts, but I have a question that I am completely stuck on. How did you find a draw file that is multicoloured? When I search / change the setting to pen, the image always converts to black so you can only change it to a single colour. However, when I load the floral circle file that you use in this tutorial, it is for both the pen and multicoloured. I understand the process of inserting images, and following the instructions on how to change the pens to the approrpiate colours, but for the life of me, I cannot seem to find any other multicoloured PEN images. What am I doing wrong? I have learnt so much from you, and got a fabulous set of pens for xmas with my new cricut maker, but can only seem to be able to use one colour at at time? I believe it was 80lb, but I cannot remember. :) any cardstock is fine, just use the proper cut setting.

I do answer individual questions, as best as I can. I am unsure why yours isn’t working like mine, but maybe be sure you’re image is set to draw and then click on the layers individually to select the pen color you want.
