I really wish this nice fellow would arrange a complete drawing course. I'd gladly pay for that, be it book, DVD, or download. He's really good AND really good at teaching. You rarely get both of those in the same package.

Thank you SO much for showing these different techniques, one after the other. I am very new to pastels (I have used mostly graphite, and a bit of colored pencil) so I was looking for ideas on how to use the pastels. Your techniques are terrific! I can't wait to try out the different variations and see what I come up with. Also, the "trick" with the piece of glass....BRILLIANT! Thank you again. Cheers!

Thanks for the demonstration, it's great! I really like this kind of drawing, compare to what most art instructors would teach. They seem to be liking the very realistic, detailed, burnished or vibrant drawing. My teacher used to be picking on my unburnished drawing, but I really just like to leave the tooth of the paper showing through. It was tough, because I had to burnish it to get a grade, and now I have problem with my self leaving unburnished drawing, even though I meant for it to look a bit raw and unfinished.
