I didn't have gesso, so I just used black acrylic paint, worked as good :) Thanks for the tip!

I have a rocky relationship with white ink gel pens too, specifically the brand you’re using here. I used to have difficulties maximizing its brightness. What I’ve discovered is, the angle that it’s held at is the key. If the ink flows well when the pen is held at a certain angle, keep holding the pen at that angle. Weird, but it works for me. Lol.😆😆

I've only been successful using the white gelly roll pens on black cardstock. I tend to smudge them easily because I'm heavy handed though. The effect on black paper is stunning though.

I love Gelly roll pens, except the white! I found a better white gel pen - Pentel Milky Pop....so much better. I've tried so many :( Love your art and videos!

Same. When I use it, it feels like it might dig into the paper 😔. Probably because the ink doesn't always flow.

@@crystalm.2678 Thank you 💜. I think the gesso really helped. It provides a more textured surface for the ball of the pen to roll on. I think when when the surface is too smooth, the pen opts out 😂

Yes, I've discovered the same thing re pressure. It's almost like floating the roller ball on the paper, rather than touching or pressing the pen to the paper. If that makes sense.
