i’ve been trying to get into drawing, i already have pretty decent “skills” for a beginner, i’m turning 16 in 5 days and i’ve never really drawn unless it was to kill time, never tried to actually learn how to get “good” at it until now, i’m gonna be using this channel to help me. this channel makes it way easier on me because he explains what all is recommended to have knowledge of before trying to better your drawing skills, i’m excited to see my own improvement.

I haven't watched the full video yet, and I want to say gosh! my artstyle changes with every drawing I make, and many times when I get consistent, I see someonelese's drawing/art and think to myself "Wow this artstyle is so pretty, I ill try to copy that, but in the end it ends up looking completely different. I am attracted to totally different art styles, so lets see how this helps!

Horikoshi inspired me a LOT when it comes to developing my artstyle, so much that i can write the ENTIRE essay explaining how horikoshi's artstyle works and its revolution from his very first artworks to his recent bnha chapters. Two things that stand out and inspired me the most is 1. The seemingly simplicity but flexible that can adapt to whatever shit he throwing it and still looks good, including crossover (look up his mavel artworks) and 2. The way he 3d things, like the hair is drawed in chunks, the iconic facial shapes that you can notice by looking at just a lil bit sideway pespective, or the way he likes to draw a lot of curves in body (his girls are pretty much always either muscle or a lil bit chubby), and that really broaden perspective because i used to think that an anime character would only looks good in 2d with a lot of flashy detail.

This is SUPER helpful! It's more than just 'pick stuff you like and draw that, changing things until the light bulb in your brain goes off' kind of thing. It's a solid, very basic roadmap that can work for all kinds of subject matter. Personally, I love creature design - simplistic and detailed - but I also love human-based characters too so, in a nutshell (and after watching this video), I now know that human anatomy is probably the best place for me to start because I will be able to drawn humanlike characters or stretch/mold the anatomy to draw creatures. (I also want to be able to draw simplistically as well as detailed so it helps more with the latter.) Eventually, I want to be able to create characters for video games...or just for art in general. Thanks for making such an amazing video, Marcel! And I appreciate the work you put into animating and editing them!

I've always loved the way Gege Akutami draws his anatomy. While it's very sketchy, the lines and outlines in and out of the fingers, arms, etc. are very appealing to look at. Another interesting thing about Gege I've recently taken notice of are his facial expressions. Much like the rest of his characters, they're very sketchy. But sometimes this detail is exaggerated to match the tone of the situation. Not only this, but he also finds room to blend in a more chibi style with softer and goofier expressions to fit a more comedic scene in such a dramatic and thrilling story.

I pretty much taught myself by using a similar method. I read a lot of manga when starting so I was influenced heavily by the main series I read, Pokémon Adventure and my original drawing in this style sucked, but Mato did some amazing stuff that I still reference. Next I got into Toyotaro the main artist of DB super. Then of course the goat Kohei Horikoshi has been influencing my art marjorly since MHA 30 onwards! I still use all of the artists as references but often do things myself from drawing. Tutorials where never my thing but I am seriously considering getting serious rather than just for fun every now and again.
