I just inherited a Drawmer 1960 from a friend and immediately had it repaired at the approved repair shop in Las Vegas. It's now installed in my Seattle studio for the two overhead drum mics and this is the video I stumbled across to see how to use the thing. Thanks for filming this and running through many of the features.

Thank you for watching and for the comment, Daniel! 👍 Glad if this short video was of some use to you, despite the poor camerawork and the shortness, and congrats on your new Drawmer 1960. I've used that unit a lot, too, the overall sound is very similar to the 1969, and the compression circuitry is perhaps a bit slower & softer, i.e. even more "tube sounding", as people like to say today. The mic pres and DI are no slouches, either! Just make sure the front panel switches are exercised and when necessary Deoxit-ed regularly, that's the only trouble it might give you, because other than that it's a very reliable and totally great sounding piece of gear. BTW a good tip on your 1960 (or likewise on my 1969) for some extra tube warmth and extra compression control is to use it on mono sources by running the 2 channels in series, running a cable from the line output of chan1 back into the line input of chan2, and using chan1 compressor set to fast attack & release to just catch some peaks, and chan2 to a slower attack and one of the two autorelease settings so it grooves along with the sound source, dialling in as much drive & grit as required with both the output gain controls - believe me, can sound phatt and HUGE! 😎
