I imagine that sometimes it is hard to decide whether or not to retire a jersey - but not this time. And it says a lot about him as a person and a leader that even his current team trucked all the way from California to come to his old college and be a part of this.

Seeing this inspired me to look up some more about Draymond - especially his professional career and I got a shock - analysts at ESPN and Washington Post called him "the best CENTER in the NBA". The Warriors have something they call "the death lineup", where Day-Day plays center. While he gives up size at that position, his length and strength allow him to be a solid defender down low, and his speed, quickness, ball handling, passing and shooting ability make him a nightmare for opposing centers on the offensive break. Some have suggested that he might be the model for centers in the future. Who would have thought that a guy who is considered an undersized power forward could earn accolades as a great CENTER?
