For any who didn't already know, don't make the same mistake that I did and "Usurp" the thrones in the tower when the "confederate" options at the top of the tower are available. Just save up the influence and confederate them as their claimed thrones are then given to you.

I actually thought it might work that way, because they have a throne and you get the faction. I did that with Astragoth and it basically means you have the full tower more or less after confederating all other factions. It is rather easy with him as well due to his bonus to influence

totally, but bear in mind that AI get bonuses based on your difficulty, so it's often better to leave confederation till later, lest you all of a sudden have 8 different provinces you can't defend. I always confederate Zhatan first - because he never survives past turn 10, then Zhar-Naggrund - because their province is really valuable and well-built, then I leave Drazoath/Astragoth until last, and only confederate when I'm confident I have the funds and armies to defend their territory.

@Totherphoenix This is also true, confederate when you're ready as they can make or break a campaign but as I've seen Legend do many times, "You retreat from territories you can't hold to fight another day" and an extra Legendary Lord will help on any war front. Also, just another tip for any people that didn't know, you're still able to confederate the LL factions if they're wiped out but you only get the LL and his claimed thrones. This does NOT apply to the Servants of the Conclave faction that starts off with Zharr-Naggrund.

While it’s unoriginal, I like the dread/armaments system. Anything that makes high level units feel more rare/earned I am down for. The WOC update with their warband recruitment was even better.

Actually WOC dlc is a rare excellent dlc that we got after many years. Ngl, Cdawi dlc is good but WOC is way better. I hope the next factions vs dlc can be better than Cdawi cause i don’t think there’s no dlc that can beat WOC pack for now atleast for me. Or maybe if they really drop tamurkhan for the winter dlc then i might be a little bit bias towards it

I may be wrong, but I think Zhatan's biggest strength is that he gets a Military Alliance with Zharr-Naggrund very early through one quest and can recruit some tier V units very fast

I’d say late game chaos dwarf armies are pretty damn tough. With manufactury I’ve got frickin blinderbusses at 116 missle strength. They literally melt anything. It’s absurd. Let alone their front line infantry and all the other myriad of machines and monsters and magic. I think they rank quite high

@@business3867 it’s definitely a very in depth economy and it is slow to start. Slow to start while the whole time everyone declares war while you can support maybe two stacks. Super interesting and challenging but really rewarding. Some of the harder campaign starts I’ve run into before that’s for sure.

@@business3867 Always capture the nearby marble deposits, they all have one. They help accelerate they early game economy tremendously so rush settlements with marble to tier 3 and rush marble production facilities.

There is a hilarious bug for the frost ice maiden hero. The hero by herself on the campaign map shows up as a Greenskin goblin unit.

Thorek Ironbrow's campaign has you building dwarven relics. One of those relics spawns an ancestor thane special hero. When he is in battle he also shows up as a greenskin goblin.

1:12:45 Hobgoblin archers do fire damage. And you can debuff massive amount of infantry with fire weakness from Ash Storm and other stuff. Also, they do increased ranged damage while healthy.

I found a movement bug with the Chorfs. It's not super common but: If you have the tower seat that provides the movement after a win AND you are intercepted while in underway stance you can move an extra full underway jump if you win.

That's why I like CD: just like you said, they don't have a single bad unit; every one of them serves a purpose. They have Greenskins as fodder and as a cheap military unit with flame attacks (hobbos and archers), cheap cavalry (hobbos again), monstrous cavalry, monsters, flying monsters, various artillery, dwarfs (obviously). Everything. I think they should have had Hobgoblin Khan as a hero option though. (Good stream. DLC is definitely worth it for me)

If you declare war on the Thunderguts early without warning - simply attack their settlement - it doesn't affect your diplomacy. Then you can offer a peace treaty and their settlement back and they pay you 3-4k. Your diplomacy still is unaffected, they leave you alone (though they will get conquered by someone else quickly), and you get some early money. On the whole, I found this campaign to be WAY easier than everyone makes it out to be. You are surrounded, sure, but so few enemies actually get you involved in anything for the first 20 turns or so, and that is on Legendary.

People seem to struggle with the blunderbuss unit and how to use it without murdering your own troops. They see it as a basic gunpowder unit and treat them like handgunners or thunderers. They operate more like artillery in that they don't care about obstruction by friendly units. The best use for them is to establish a front line and then bring the blunderbuss out to the sides and get enfilading fire down the main line.

When I tried doing the Imrik battle the same way Legend did the Elven Fire mage nuked all my hobgobbos with a single Burning Head as they were shooting into the back of the archers. I got absolutely rekt in that battle.

I have to say, the Chaos Dwarfs beside the Black are well done. I like their mechanics, obviously they borrowed from several factions for them, but it makes sense. Their units are pretty damn bonkers though. Most of them are really strong. Obviously the Gobbos and Slaves aren`t great but they are fodder anyway and nothing more. But basically every Dwarf and Monster/Demon unit is useful. I still think the DLC is a bit pricy in comparison to others, but still... after waiting so long for this faction I think they did a good job implementing them, most mechanics while borrowed in a way actually fit the Chaos Dwarfs from a lore perspective so... yeah... I`m pretty happy overall honestly

Zhatan's is actually the best of 3 legendary lords starting position. You can early on take care of Grimgore. You have 2 potential allies early, on both sides (Kholek and Twins). You can also focus blue line from the get go and learn magic by your mage. Zhatan is 100% the best 1st playthrough lord out of 3.

You are so good at it and super fast so its hard to see what you are doing. If you already have a good tutorial or if you know of someone with one a link would be great. IMO zhatan is in the best position because you have the opportunity to seize one of the most defendable spots on the map which is Cathay and the spot you start in is very defendable. You're equipped with everything you need for the invasion and you have the tools to deal with various problems. Take care of grimgor as soon as you can.

To the person that said the Chaos Dwarfs seem OP, there are a couple units that are a bit strong but I wouldn't call them OP either. Blunderbusses are kinda ridiculous but their range is nothing. The only things that I would really call OP are their later artillery

Really. Ironborn immortals have the same stats or better as ironbreakers, arguably the best frontline infantry in the game. Most chorf units have a synergy with something else (like Hashut spells imbuing fire weakness), so you also have to look at their roster as a whole. Also their heroes are absolute beasts. I would argue that while not all their units are awesome, nothing is complete trash for the price point except for maybe kdaai units. And yes, except for Elspeths and Malakai's artillery, chorf arty is probably the best in game because the manufactory bonuses elevate them so much

I just followed along and did the exact same moves as I am learning Chaos Dwarfs and I am at a loss. At the battle around the 1:30:30 mark, where streamer is getting 900+ kills I am at around 200 and my lord is at like 5% HP. I am also at a lower difficulty level. What gives?

In ten years, I have still never heard anyone on the internet correctly apply the phrases, "lazy design/writing/programming" or "cash grab" to a product or DLC, yet they use it ALL THE TIME. It's the first words out of their keyboards at times when they themselves haven't even tested a product out. They take to the chats of content creators and talk like experts on the game being featured, but then log no actual hours themselves, and their mantra is to be negative about a product at all costs. You know i really don't get the hate for Zartan. Each of the 3 main lords have their own strengths by proving resources. Astrogoth provides more influence then any of the other fractions. drazoth is best at creating arms and using them. While Zartan is best at getting the Hardest resource you need to keep your economy functioning. Labor as he has access to more caravans thus more laborers. As i hate to break it to you a decent caravan could net you around 2000 labors a round trip. For pretty much nothing as they have no up Meanwhile a major battle nets you around. 100 to 200 + maby another 200 if your lucky with captives. And of coarse raiding nets you around the same amount per turn. Yet zartan can have a total of 4 caravans. That nets you around 8000 labors a round trip. Assuming you used all 4 to gather labor instead of say resources or money. Which you can get alot of money to. As i seen up to 6k a single trip. Mind you labor is the most important resource. A single outpost can need up to 1000 labor. And unlike materials or armaments. Their is a direct upkeep as your labor pool will be going down constantly. And if you have very shitty public order that can be anywhere between 50 to 100 labor Per turn. And this isn't even taking into consideration if your using labor to Build settlements. As chaos dwarfs have very very long build times. But you can instantly build shit with a click of the button. Thou it will cost up to 100 per turn needed to build. So that teir 5 settlment needs 10 turns. Thats 1000 labor down the drain. This is why Zartan is a great lord. As he gives you access to labor allowing you to keep your materials coming in. And allows you to build shit instantly allowing your economy to grow faster then any of the other lords. as in the end its not the chaos dwarfs that build their economy. It is the orcs slaves. without them the chaos dwarfs wouldn't have much.
