For those wondering, this specific class of UNSC Frigate is the Stalwart-class Light Frigate. The most notable example of this class is the UNSC _In Amber Clad_ FFG-142 from Halo 2. Those familiar with the written works in the Halo universe might also recognize it as the UNSC _Midsummer Night_ FFG-209 from the 'Halo: The Fall of Reach' and 'Halo: The Cole Protocol' books.

theoretically you could put a Taiyo weapon spinal mount in the front and load it with heavy hitting weapons to RP a main gun of sorts, also this is excellently explained, well done

I think that EM weapons would work well, as they are one of the closest things to a single shot ship weapon in the game. Also, the projectile looks somewhat like a kinetic weapon.

A great addition to the tutorial would be saying which places to go first according to building process OR a list of what items and how many we'll need so if we wanted, we could go buy them, collect them onto a ship and then go to our outpost and use them all in one go of building

Just completed this fully, jesus it took going all over. Tips: MOST of this can be gotten from a outpost ship lander, BUT the most important are landing gears. Make sure you buy (and place) 3 of those landing gears when you buy them from the deimos staryard (either build one from scratch or buy a ship and start building in deimos staryard) and make it flyable first. Then get the deepcore reactor if its there, if not just use a placeholder c class reactor till you find it) From there just keep building till it gets to a piece thats custom and needs a certain location, and replace with a placeholder till you find the piece you need. The other big one is the hopetech habcross braces (get 2 in hometown) because you cant place the engine pieces he shows (and the subsequent 2 deimos landing gears of which you should have bought a grand total of 3) All together it cost me around 660k, and thats with commerce 3.

Did you get to complete the build? In my case it says that the landing gear does not have access to the cabin, the same with the dock module, even when I changed all the structure to connect the landing and the dock modules with the cabin it says the ship is to large.🤦

How do you build with all of these different things? can you save unflyable ships and just not set as home? then go to the other spot and start building? or can you buy parts from all the vendors and then just compile them all somewhere?

To my understanding you have to go to the seller of that specific piece equip it on to another ship save that and then go back to wherever and build your ship you want and then that piece should be available now. Stupid, yes.

Love the design. Only gripe i have flying it is your stuck in first person lol. 3rd person shoves the cam up the ships aft end and you cant see. Then again thats what turrets are for lol. Love it! Keep up the good work

Amazing build. Need a guide on how to get all the parts for the ship to the home pad. If you can do that, it would be great. Maybe if you design a standard ship from your home pad and then use that each time you have to go grab parts from the staryards. It would be your parts gathering ship. Just have a bottom docker next to landing bay and lots of landing gear. Engines, fuel, grav, reactor on front of ship. Stick all the needed parts on the back sort of like a semi truck. Can just do a sped up tour of the universe showing the parts you pick up at each landing zone and then back to your pad.

Followed this guide and have it flyable and ready to use. Started with a free star cargo hauler I picked up from a Crimson Fleet Mission Board quest. It provided a large ship I could swap parts out for and stack new ones on top of it. Flew my main ship around to gather the parts onto it, having renamed the thing Scrapyard. Found most of the parts either at Deimos Shipyards or at the Akila City ship tech. Just missing a few details, mostly Deimos wings and spines, and the new Bridge. Looks so good, and am loving how much space is inside it. As a fun reversal, painted it Purple and Blue to make it stand out, actually having the Errant Venture, the famous Red and Neon sign covered Star Destroyer from the old Star Wars Legends stories in mind for fun alternate colours for serious military ships. The only problem is I'm having the Space Station Docking Bug, and the game has basically locked me out of Deimos Shipyards. So I'm hoping to be able to find the rest of the Deimos parts at either New Atlantis or Hopetown. Need to check if Eckland is a station, cause if it is, I might be doomed to a smaller bridge.

It would need to have unrestricted ship size limits to actually make capital ships, I want to make a destroyer class ship at least but the dimensions aren't really immersive enough to commit lol...they're just too small to be even considered frigates....am talking miles long 😅

Great build guide, only tweaking I did to this was instead of the KE-42 cannon up front, I used a gauss gun (think it's called an MKE-9 or something, not in front of my gaming rig right now) instead to simulate more of that MAC cannon feel for the bow. Still fits perfectly in that same space.

@@Krosstic I started out at Hopetown because the "Hopetech Hab Cross brace" that can only be bought here is necessary to get the two side sections to connect to the main section and there are no substitutes that would work. Any parts that the Hopetown tech didnt have I just substituted a cheap temporary alternative. After finishing I would fly off to the other shipyards to swap out the temp parts with the proper ones.

As a PSA for anyone who doesn't have the ship designer skills, until it gets fixed you can pick a part and press the S key to get the part you want without the skills as long as you can afford it. 18:55 Landing gear needs to be on the same level as on-ramp. nice ship, might be able to get a cosmetic to look like the port on the other side.

I normally build what I can from my outpost landing pad, then I will throw on random parts to get it to fly. I then travel to the other shipyards for the parts I need and swap them out with the random parts I initially placed.

Substitute the pieces you don't have, at your own settlement landing pad, with ones that you do have. Then fly to the appropriate ship technicians and buy the appropriate parts that you need. I don't understand how this is difficult.

What's doing my head in is that I should have every ship part, but when I go to build it, I can't see certain parts, like the HopeTech Hab Cross Brace. Okay first thing is you need to go to all the shipyards that sell those special parts you like. After you have the parts you want, go build yourself an outpost, it’s easy if you buy the resources ahead of your build, now at that outpost build a large landing pad on it. Now you’ll have all those nice parts and all your ships to customise.

I've been trying to replicate this for about 2 hours, lol I keep running into issues such as the docker needing to be connected to cockpit. It also wont allow me to make more than 2 of those engines and 2 of those landing gears. Do i need to be higher level? Im lvl 2 ship building and i beleive level 3 pilot

Quick point to say how big these ships are too be, here is the entry from the Wiki and Halo Encyclopidia "... Four frigate classes are of identifiable proportions. The largest, the Strident-class, is 575 meters (1,890 ft) long, while the smallest, the Stalwart-class, is 478 meters (1,570 ft) long.[21] The Charon-class reaches 490 meters (1,600 ft) long, and the Paris-class is 535 meters (1,760 ft) long. Width wise, the Paris-class is the largest at 199 metres (652 ft 11 in). The smallest was the Strident-class at 124 metres (406 ft 10 in). The Stallwart-class at 152 metres (498 ft 8 in) and the Charon-class at 156 metres (511 ft 10 in) were of comparable width. The heights of all four are the same, all reaching 112.3 metres (368 ft). Mass wise, the Strident-class was 1,100,000 metric tons. The Stalwart-class was 930,000 metric tons. ..." Just to say, from where I am in the video (4:04) it is small and also the entrance is placed backwards for how it is to be from below, the entrance is technically a hanger for the ship to carry cargo. But to be 100% fair, the UNSC ships from Halo are 3 times smaller than what it should be for carrying the arsenals it needs have been stated to carry.

You should do some unique ship builds that you can build at your outpost. Or make a parts list so we can plan out where to go. I’ve started your builds before and has to go back and forth because right at the end of you video, I had to go get another part from a specific part vendor. But you make great builds

Tips for those building the engine parts, rather than rebuilding from scratch you can select all (PC double click) and you have the whole build then just change it up, its easier.

I wrote a comment yesterday about how annoying it is that you don't show the process of getting the parts but then realized you can just fly another ship while you get that one "spaceworthy" enough to save it. It's not your guide that's frustrating, it's the building system having no means of saving your progress short of building a semi-flyable ship which is just plain awkward. I kept thinking I had to fly THAT very ship to the next place which always meant building some janky ship connections and wasting money in the process is inevitable. That said, I managed to get this ship built and it looks great. Sorry about the negativity yesterday, your guide is great it's the ship building system that leaves a lot to be desired in terms of functionality; Choosing whether ladders appear or not, interior colors, saving blueprints as template, a way to keep the parts in one place, etc. Like having level 4 piloting and 4 ship design should open up a new landing pad that allows you build with ALL the parts at your base, not just the basics imo.

Okay, so the video doesn't cover that You need to have certain skills unlocked, like piloting level 4, starship design level 2. I also see people saying they make the ship flyable and then fly it, You don't need to do that, just get rid of the errors then use your current ship to fly to the shipyards. I'm using my upgraded razorleaf and flying when I need to go. Hope that helps! also, I saw a reddit post about having a working MAC cannon, it's like 6 gauss cannons in a circle, not sure how to get it working. But would love to see
