Hello! Been watching your videos as I'm trying to do a modified version of the Lanna Kingdom route condensed down to 5 days. Can you tell me how long it took you to do the Pai to Royal Project day shown here? And how long for the next day, Royal Project to Papae? I've done some of the dirt and forest road climbs around Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, so I know how steep they can get. Trying to gauge if I can condense these into one (loooong) day to avoid bringing a tent and camping.

@@benw3768 Hi! We started around probably 8am and reached the Royal Project around 4pm? We took it slow though… The trail nearing Royal Project was quite steep. Towards Papae is not too bad, from what I could recall. We actually met someone who wanted to do Pai straight towards Papae - not too sure if he made it though. But you could try, provided perhaps you start early from Pai and depends on how strong a rider you are. Haha. Cheers!

@@AdBENture Thank you for the response! I was planning on staying in the southern part of Pai (I've been before on cycling trips and have no need to stay in the center of everything with all the backpackers). Doing this cuts out almost 10km of the Pai to Royal Project portion (admittedly those are the easiest kms). I'm a moderately strong rider, and will be on a pretty light setup without camping gear, so I'll probably give it a go. I'll report back here in case someone else finds your videos and wants to know how it went.

@@benw3768no worries. I reckon that with lighter setup it wouldn’t be a problem for you. Hope the weather will be perfect for u as you attempt it! Stay safe!
